Contenders: Buy Darrell Henderson while you can

Contenders: Buy Darrell Henderson while you can

dsheehan7

For a 2nd sure, but is anyone selling him for just a 2nd? I had two shares of Hendo, sold one for a 1st but nobody offered a 1st on the other one so I just held. A 2nd isn’t enough for the lead RB on the Rams. Would you be buying for a 1st OP? I think that’s a more reasonable price point.

justinsherbert

That's a good question. It obviously depends on league size but in deeper leagues i.e. 14-16 teams I think he's certainly worth a late 1st right now. For a 10-12 team league I would consider giving a 22 1st (I'm down on the depth of the class) if it cemented my spot as a top 2-3 team. If you're trying to sell him for a 1st, I think the price will rise after a good week or two, or you could see if you can throw in a lesser piece (like a depth WR) to a contender right now.

XanmanK

A week after the Akers injury, I actually bought Henderson for a 22’ 2nd that I expect to be late. I was surprised that’s all it took- they thought for sure a really good vet would come in to take the starting job (like a trade for Robinson or Hunt). I don’t feel too threatened by Michel.

[deleted]

I feel like Henderson is a shoe in RB1 but made of glass. He just looks small out there.

LeadFarmerMothaFucka

They just traded two picks to acquire Sony. Henderson didn’t inspire enough confidence for the front office to not sacrifice picks for a backup player. If they trusted him, they would have brought in a free agent.

Pho_King_Noodle

The Rams are probably the team who values draft picks the least in the league though

JavaLoops

Although they were later picks, I completely agree with this.

Alternative-Golf1868

Well until he gets hurt or is lackluster. I will not be joining your boat. But thee of little faith, have no fear for I have a better boat to buy!!! Damien Harris Express will run over land and sea for you behind a great online and plenty of opportunity awaits!!!!

grandbuffy

In my startup draft I got both. The Sony news made me very sad and very happy at the same time.

[deleted]

I’d much rather have Henderson. Similar caliber players, but Henderson has a much better situation.

Alternative-Golf1868

Much better is a stretch at best

[deleted]

How so? One plays for the Patriots and the other for the Rams. One will catch passes, the other will catch close to zero. One will score touchdowns, the other may score close to zero.

Alternative-Golf1868

Lol Harris scores close to zero? Are you an idiot lol

[deleted]

How many did he get last year? Did they purposely draft a goal line back to not use him at the goal line?

Alternative-Golf1868

Rookie running backs for pats, they got rid of cam and Burkhead which was a majority of the goal line carries so idk why you think all of that does to the 3rd string back lol. And Henderson had 5 TDs and they brought in Michel and will be passing a lot.

[deleted]

Ok. Have fun with your Patriots running back who will definitely score all the touchdowns and catch passes.

JayhovWest

Ok. Try telling me who is taking the goal line touches for the pats if not Harris? Cam no longer being there is a boon.

[deleted]

Probably the guy they drafted who is huge and is a prototype goal line back. I don’t know.

Alternative-Golf1868

And have fun with your Rams RB who def isn’t going to be in a time share in a passing offense.

[deleted]

Good thing he catches passes. That would be bad if he didn’t and they passed a lot.

Old_Blackberry321

"Situation"? they are competing for the same job.... so their situation is the same. Don't forget how well of a pass catcher Sony was at UGA, he just got robbed in NE by having James White as the receiving back

Alternative-Golf1868

Damien Harris vs Darrell Henderson bro. I don’t think you followed this very well. Two different teams, not the same job

Old_Blackberry321

Sony plays for the LA Rams.... so same team, same job

Alternative-Golf1868

I literally don’t think you are reading the thread you are commenting on. Please read each comment and tell me how your comment makes sense

Old_Blackberry321

ah, didn't catch that.... my fault.... I'd take Harris this year but Stevenson will turn into their Blount in NE and maybe take the job next year. Just hope he doesn't vulture too many TD's his first year

ChrisLBC562

You’re speculating way too hard on Stevenson lol. BB trusts Harris enough to leave a rookie as his primary backup. It’s his job unless he completely blows it.

jakec837

Damien harris butt and patriots butt

Alternative-Golf1868

I see someone learned the word butt today. Good job big guy! We are all proud of you. No go run along and play in your 6 team league while the adults talk

jakec837

You’ll see big nuts

MickRL

How should I feel since Harris and Henderson oscillate as my RB 3/4 (14 team 1QB PPR with 3 FL)?

Alternative-Golf1868

Good enough!!

[deleted]

I agree with you OP. Henderson is a great depth piece for contenders.

jlee3485

Bought him for two 2nd’s as a contender. And I’m quite happy with that deal. Especially since I lost Dobbins after I made the deal.

SirArchibold

I traded Waddle for him, in the hopes that Henderson can be the piece I need. I figure Waddle probably isn't going to be a true difference maker this season. I'm fully aware that it could look bad by 22 tho

XanmanK

What pick did you use to draft Waddle

SirArchibold

I think it was an early 2nd, I tried to trade out but alas. wasn't a huge fan of waddle pre-draft, which prob contributed to my willingness to make the Henderson trade

Thromkai

BEFORE the Sony news, I was trying to sell Henderson to contenders for any 1st at all - no bites. So I held and am waiting for his first good performance or another RB injury and will try again. But there seems to be a HUGE lack of faith in Henderson from contenders. It's either that, or there are contenders not willing to spend the 1st yet because they are being conservative in holding it in case they REALLY need it further down the line, and I can't blame them for that either.

justinsherbert

Yeah I see why contenders wouldn't part with a 1st for him - I just think if you're a contender and you can give your 2nd round pick, which seems to be what he's going for, or a young WR like Reagor or Amon-Ra, the upside seems much more worth it than the other players going in his ADP range i.e. Drake, Pollard and Singletary.

Nadirofdepression

I agree I would take him for a 2nd. But I think owners will ask for a first up until Sony displaces him, and that’s a no from me

_Kindakrazy_

I picked up Henderson from our Waivers after Cam’s injury and sold for a first and picked up Sony the week before Sony was traded. I feel like I won the lottery.

Old_Blackberry321

My money is on Sony here, Henderson will miss time at some point and Sony is the better back overall in my opinion. When Henderson misses time, Sony will run with the job and not look back Side Note: you can obtain Sony for a lot less right now

jakec837

That’s gonna be a no for me dog

justinsherbert

I still like Henderson to score more points this year but I agree Sony is a buy at his current price as well

[deleted]

I absolutely agree. Sony > Henderson.

bigez502

It's going to be Sony

JerBear_2008

It’s hard to me to invest in someone that could not be in a lead role in the next year. Depending on Akers recovery, Henderson could be in a back up role. So far it’s been positive talk about Akers rehab and he is by far the best back when healthy. That makes this a one year rental most likely so it’s how much you believe in him living up to your trade price. We could all be wrong but this seems like a steep price for a RB with a lot unknowns for this year and a ton of unknowns for beyond.

justinsherbert

It's a fair concern about status beyond this year - IMO he's mostly worth it for those trying to win this year to target as their RB3/RB4. I sure hope Akers can come back (as I own him too) - but it would be unprecedented for him to come back and be an elite player. I'll be keeping my eye on Marlon Mack's play. My feeling is Akers will be lead back if he can recover to 100% but he will no longer play a bellcow role, which could be 60% Akers 40% Henderson. If Henderson performs well I could see him holding the 60% next year and beyond, especially if Akers doesn't fully recover. I think Michel walks after this year to get paid.

hankfraley

Ehhhh

Kainanz95

I haven’t seen anyone sell him simply for a second. I managed to get gaskin for a 2023 2nd and 3rd so I pulled the trigger on that instead

dubs_dj

Does anyone else no longer see ADP on sleeper?

WaveyGraveyDavey

Asking price is two firsts in my leagues, so I’m out.

glassfloor11

Is this 2019?

bearded_bears

I sent a (hopefully) late 2nd and 3rd for Henderson and an early 4th like 3 days after his injury. Surprised his stock hasn’t risen past that tbh

NukeDog

I offered a second for him before Akers got hurt and got declined. Sure as hell ain’t getting him for one now.

Southside73

I don’t see him finishing as a top 12 back. The rams for some reason drafted Akers after drafting Henderson the year before. I don’t see them trusting him for the year as the lead back

chripuck

Sold him and a late 1st for MT. He was my rb5

grandbuffy

I'm 100% on board with this aside from the price you're quoting. I predict that he will be the lead back, even when Akers comes back. You don't come back from an Achilles tear. As a Henderson manager, I wouldn't trade Henderson away for a second, but I would strongly consider a first + a RB.

kipkoponomous

Thoughts on giving Fitzpatrick/Dalton + Raegor for Henderson + 2nd?

Mango_143

Do it

kipkoponomous

I did and it was for Fitz a day before the injury. Damn do I keep getting lucky in that league.

Mango_143

I didn't get rid of Fitz quick enough and I dropped Heinicke the week before 🙃. However I did pull a 2022 1st for Gus and a 3rd before he went down

kipkoponomous

Hell yeah! Tried to trade him in my redraft and couldn't get it done.
