Creating the deities in my world?

A Life god/goddess , the total opposite of the Death one ? To bring yang to the yin and balance it out
i did kind of think of that but i wasn't really sure what they'd actually do
The opposite of Death. People pray to them asking for children. Farmers ask for plentiful crops. Generally seen as responsible for creating plants and animals. Some pray for death to come and take them, while others who are sick may ask for life to come and save them. Life may also be prayed to as the god of marriage, as you bind your life to another.
ooo thats good thanks :))
As a personal oppinion , the death one and his worshipers seems kinda evil-ish and the magic one with nothing for free (while i like the idea of it) still kinda evil-ish (the blood part) , another one in the same category would be counterproductive . We need something good-ish , to balance those 2 and held the world together , unless the world is grimdark
it is supposed to be dark but i hadn't really considered the evil-ish nature of the other two thanks :))
Look at fertility gods, they are the life force gods.
One way you could have your three gods work is:
**a death god** who presides over the underworld/world of death
**a fertility/nature/health god** who presides over the world of the living
and your **magic god** would be a liminal god who presides over thresholds and boundaries which is where the magic lies
Liminal gods [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liminal\_deity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liminal_deity)
Create life. What your missing most is a creator deity.
Reality? Something that makes sure everything follows rules like gravity and such
thats a good one it kinda fits with the theme, maybe it could also link to fate or something similar thanks :))
What I'm thinking is maybe a god of construct? What this could mean is a god pertaining to matter and abstract concepts such as time, space, and dimensions. This would include all things mind, body and soul as well. A god just as entwined with grand creation as it is with philosophy and general or complex workings of thought. It would be interesting if although construct is beyond human comprehension it is still very interested in humanity. A god who can write the laws of physics or rules for space and time but also one who is thoroughly interested in what really makes a person human; their love, their desire, their hatred, their resolve. All things that make construct leave humanity to write their own path even if it could write it all for them.
This could create a cool trio for humanity as construct is what gave humanity form and consciousness, allowing them to think, feel and will their future for themselves. Magic gives humanity the gift of its power allowing people to achieve a potential they wouldn't have had in life otherwise. Finally death would be what gives humanity meaning, their end and potentially new beginning depending on what you decide to do with an afterlife.
thats a cool idea, maybe it could sort of connect to reality as well, thanks
With the limit of 3 you can go with the 3 main stages of human lives : birth, growing and dying
Life could be the third one as being the opposite of death but with a special take on it. Each soul is not owned by the body/human but rather loaned by the life-god, he/she is the one responsible of infusing the reality with souls so life can be. At the end of the road, death is just taking back what is due. And between these 2 points, magic happen. Think magic as some sort of chaos, anything can happen, a peasant could become a king through destiny/luck/sheer will/other, civilizations rise and fall, this magic can also be called change.
Now, why the souls are loaned in the first place you may ask. There would be the primordial god, the one-before-and-above-all who is using its very essence to create those souls, giving work to life. Magic/change stores data in the soul by making it live through various events then death takes it to give it back to that primordial god who is now fed with the data stored in the soul.
I suck at explaining things but maybe it will trigger your inspiration
oo thats a cool idea with the souls thanks
If you need more details don't hesitate to PM me, we can throw ideas back and forth
How about a Power God, who grants strength, speed and other enhanced physical attributes but requires you to sacrifice some sanity of yours, making you dumber or angrier.
Also, what's up with Gods constantly demanding sacrifices. Aren't they all-powerful beings? Why would they need someone's blood or personal object.
This, is just an opinion, but you could rephrase that the sacrifice for the Magic God is one's emotions instead or a loving memory. This could even lead to side effects like depression
thats a good point thanks so much
