Advertisement for a planned retro-futuristic suburb. There are a few unpleasant surprises under the hood, though.

This picture seems a bit unclear in its messaging. Like, it seems to idolize the mid 20th century in a weird way, and it seems to overemphasized the problems of the 21st century in a way that only makes sense out of world. It also doesn't seem clear who the in universe audience would be.
It's from the 2050s or 2060s. (Nadir of civilization was around 2044) So things got worse before they got better.
In that case it just seems to be pushing together every paranoia of the 2020s, but if that's what your going for then you're doing a good job.
Thanks. The deliberate aesthetic is kind of reactionary (not in the sense of far-right but in the sense of rebuilding after a really shitty 2030s and 2040s). I just so happened to namecheck exclusively real cutting-edge technologies and problems rather than say something explicitly science fiction like life extension. (Yes, at least one great power [is actively dabbling in Gundam-style orbital bombardment](https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/42772/china-tested-a-fractional-orbital-bombardment-system-that-uses-a-hypersonic-glide-vehicle-report)).
Yes but something like a plague destroying society doesn't really mech well with AI overtaking society. It feels like two decades shouldn't have this much st once.
The plague is Covid; it didn't destroy society but it brought much of it to a halt. They didn't literally go through a full apocalypse of each of those but they did have some close calls. Think a 1930s-1940s scale of destruction and disruption.
Autobots welcome! -The Three Families ([That is a legitimate term for autonomous robots and is not a Transformers reference for R4 reasons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_robot))
This is an advertisement for a planned suburb that aims to reverse many of the worst science-fiction elements of the 21st century to date; although it originally was set in [our timeline in the 1990s](https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/q8c9n4/welcome_to_corrado_heights_pa_in_1999_are_there/), it also works as a retrofuturistic enclave. A few emerging technologies (autonomous vehicles, peaceful/demilitarized robots, neuromorphic/limited artificial intellgences, and even some [Transformer-type vehicles](https://www.telegraphindia.com/science-tech/the-successful-flight-of-klein-visions-aircar-may-be-a-watershed-in-dual-mode-car-aircraft-vehicles/cid/1822905) are allowed subject to rules; the reference to "restricted communities" that do not allow robots [is a sly reference to 1940s and 1950s housing and resort advertisements in the USA and Canada as documented in the film *The Green Book*](https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2019/01/07/restricted-clientele-the-painful-history-of-racist-ads-in-the-star-and-the-readers-who-protested-them.html). Sadly, this town has a hitch; although there is less science fiction than you might inspect, there is a lot of influence from organized crime as it is located in [this](https://i.redd.it/irmqf7zb5pm61.png) metropolitan area. This includes what the Italian old-timers call "our thing", although two of the three Mafia families are now open to mixed-race Italian descendants.

*brings killer robot cat, "orbital bombardment in can" and vacuum-sealed virus* Do you want to know why it says "No climatic disasters setting the ocean on fire"? *proceeds to light tap water on fire* Thats why.
Congrats, your kneecaps just got broken by the Scarlatti crime family.
*calmly grows new legs* HARDER!... Can someone explain to these guys that genetically enhanced humans can turn pain into pleasure and are pretty tough to kill?
#Belarusian immigrant “whacked” in apparent mafia hit
Had faced investigations over undeclared technology and had previously been assaulted by alleged Scarlatti enforcers
*picks tank shell out of skull* That was fun, guys, we should do it again sometime.
