Are you using the base XMRig or MoneroOcean's fork of it? Like the Monero GUI Wallet, XMRig mines strictly Monero (XMR) while MoneroOcean's fork will mine a variety of cryptocoins. The hashrate will change depending on the coin being mined. For instance my MoneroOcean-fork of XMRig seems to switch between mining cn-heavy/xhv and rx/0 (XMR) and the hashrate of the respective algorithms changes from about 700 H/sec to about 9,000 H/sec. Also, if you run XMRig with Administrator rights, it will modify some cpu registers to run faster. AFAIK, the Monero GUI Wallet's miner doesnt' do that. EDIT: Based on the information at [https://www.hashrates.com/cpus/](https://www.hashrates.com/cpus/) a 3950x shouldn't get anywhere near 24 KH/sec for XMR (RandomX). It should be around 13 KH/sec. So, on the MoneroOcean site, did you have "Your Hashrate" button set to Pay or Raw?

It's on Pay. That explains why it ran at 24KH/sec on Monero. I've been googling for ways to set up the XMRig to run solo mining but to no avail. I am specifically looking for tutorial. I run the mining on linux, so when you mean by administrators right, you mean removing "sudo" when doing the sudo ./xmrig command?

xmrig actually mines most of the coins that MoneroOcean offers It just has limited algorithm switching

mingNord

How is that even possible that your 3950x can run at 24kh/s ?

>3950X he's lying twice in that post about his hash rates

gallager1999

Thats what [https://moneroocean.stream/](https://moneroocean.stream/) told me on the stats Take it as you will, i'm more concerned about tweaking the hashrate on solo mining right now

use-dashes-instead

But not what xmrig was actually doing You can't get into this with blinders on
