Running PS1 games from PS3
By - TheDevilRidesAtDawn
i d get another tv, but the games ofc wont look much better, its just that they have aged not really well. you can try upscaling and the av cable (the coloured leads) since this takes almost no time to do
hookin it up to your pc wont do anything imo. Remember ps1 games are quite old now and stretching em on a large flatscreen when ps1 games were made for crts, its understandable they dont look the best.
You could also try getting an external upscaler, there s enough yt videos about em. if i were you id try the free options such as av cable and disable upscaling and see if it works for you, if it doesnt i d try emulating em on your pc and put mods in
edit: just for playing ps1 games you didnt really have to get a full bc model ps3, because every ps3 model can play ps1 games. bc models are about ps2 bc compatibility
Thanks, looks like the console just bricked anyway!
damn that sucks!
try goin for a refund if possible
otherwise if you really wanna play on official hardware go for a slim without nekk/tokin capacitors or a super slim, if thats not worth it to you i recommend emulation
Is superslim the best choice? What changes with it?
maybe best in terms of reliability, but basically changes are just that it takes less power and looks the cheapest. biggest problems of ss as of now are the dvd door not closing anymore but tape can fix that.
slim looks best imo, needs a lil more power and if you can get the right model you can put cfw on it. but if all of this is none of your concern and you dont care about the looks of neither slim nor ss i d go with the super slim
oh and ss is the most unlikely one to need new thermal paste because its the newest
>so if there is a way to get the original quality from this console, I'd like to know. Changing the TV resolution has no impact.
The only way to get PS1 to look the way you remember is play them on a small/medium sized CRT TV.
>4) Try hooking up the PS to my gaming PC
Rip your PS1 games and run them in *Duckstation* Emulator ... which can upscale the internal resolution which produces stunning results for PS1 Games ! (5x for 1080p and 9x for 4K !)
And even *lr-pcsx_rearmed* running on a Raspberry Pi can upscale internal resolution (1x and 2x) and produces good results better than running them without internal resolution upscaling.
All of the above applies to PS2 as well with PCSX2 Emulator for PC
I don't there is a walkthrough for this? I'm not very good with PC stuff

It's pretty straight forward and not at all difficult ... but, if you need to, just search Youtube for video guides
