I guess it does come off as more of a statement, I apologize. Could a company hire an old employee to attempt to commit some sort of fraud? Or is it most likely a system error?
Already done, the DoD is very reactive, not proactive which probably doesn't surprise you. They like taking the "we will cross that road when we come to it" approach. Good advice though! Thank you
This sounds like a software change and an error during it leading to emails being sent that shouldn’t be.
They likely moved their employee database to a new system and accidentally auto emailed the entire list instead of only current employees.
I wouldn’t sweat it.
Also there are extremely few cases where a company would want to show more employees than they have. Less employees is typically better looking for financial cases.
That makes sense. I thought it could be used to inflate the value of the company, but the software upgrade scenario sounds much more likely. Thank you for this!
Yeah it’s a short term solution but it can make profitability look really good for a short time, though will often cause long term damage as critical “overhead” functions get devastated (maintenance, development, quality, etc…)
Likely did a software migration and mistakenly sent out onboarding notifications. Probably can be cleared up with a phone call or email to the company.
Honestly no idea what you’re talking about.
Why is it confusing? Did I word something wrong?
Just reread it and still aren’t sure what you’re trying to get across?

Oh… and no worries. Im guessing that its just an error, man - I wouldn’t personally sweat it.
Thanks man! I appreciate that.
notify your current employer and explain the situation?

Typically inflating company values are crash firing of people with the goal revenues go up but expenses drop.
I didn't know that!
