Your Lakers finish the 2023-2024 season with a record of 43-39 and bow out in the Western Conference Finals. Talk about all your offseason hopes and dreams here.
Not gonna lie, the Laker Film Room pod had a really out of touch episode for their post Game 4 recap. They were saying all sorts of inaccurate and glorified takes, like saying Jokic was putting up 40/10/10 every game like Lebron did in Game 4 for example.
They’ve been an okay pod during the season and they haven’t had this issue before AFAIK but they really went off the deep end in this last episode. Hopefully they correct themselves on their next episode.
All that fake shooting shit from 3rd string randoms finally ended that’s why the Heat have lost momentum Vincent Strus and Martin linsanity run is over
Starting the small lineup hurt us badly. Denver benefitted from gaining so much momentum. Their team doesn’t play very good defense and they only had a 6 man rotation. They’re good, but Lakers made every possible error: cold games from AD, bad rotations, missed open shots.
Your takes are usually inaccurate. Denver did not run a 6 man rotation and we did not make every possible error. The Nuggets were simply a better team that exploited the Laker's weakness. Losing 4 games in a row is evidence of that. Like the other comment said, our 2020 lineup like KCP/DG/Lebron/AD/Dwight was a massive lineup that caused all sorts of problems. We needed something like that.
In hindsight Lakers really should have copied the 2020 formula against the Nuggets and put AD at the 4. Schroder/Reaves/Lebron/AD/Thompson . AD was running on fumes and his offense tanked playing center.
tbh i dont even think the Lakers getting swept is embarassing.
every game was tight to the finish, was just one team having juice for a player to make one extra play.
Yeah, it wasn't as bad as the final series result made it out to be. One of the closest sweeps in recent memory. If we had a healthy LeBron, there's a good chance we won that series too. He was still playing a notably higher level prior to the injury.
We have a good core. Probably just a piece (and health) away from being contenders next season. If there's a good trade to be made, then the 17th pick probably has to be moved. Also we need to sign a capable backup big in free agency.
Man, I wish we were doing the same comeback right now like what the celtics are doing. Would've been really fun 🥹Instead am here just reminiscing about the good old days. Watching game 4 and game 6 highlights vs memphis to relive the hype XD
I mean Denver are just too good... And Bron was injured and tired. It was so frustrating watch us take a lead and then Denver would make a run... And don't even start me on how ridiculous Jokic is rebounding , passing etc. Made AD look like a kid even when AD was putting serious numbers.
Celtics really doing what I thought the Lakers were going to do.. too bad AD didn't show up smh. Celtics got some injury luck too, who knows we might have gotten it too if they won game 5
Bro give it up. The Celtics are playing a clearly inferior 7 seed with multiple injuries. We were playing the one seed with the league MVP and the deepest supporting cast. It's not the same situation at all.
yeah Lowry reaggravated his knee in Game 3 iirc.
Gabe Vincent out w the bad ankle sprain.
Caleb Martin just hyperextended his knee tonights game.
on top of Herro being out.
He can guard full court, which is huge for both slowing down a guy on a hot streak and giving a team with great set offenses like the Nuggets less time to work on the clock.
Noticed that Jimmy hasnt had one of those super big efficient games in a while. Is it his ankle or is he just gassed being the centerpiece of everything?
If we’re going by sports fan jargon, he just didn’t have enough of a killer mentality like LeBron and AD vs Denver.
Mentality ran out in game 3 for Jimmy 🤷♂️
Celtics giving the heat fanbase the scare of their lifetimes. Just like when 76ers fans almost died of nervousness last year when they lead 3-0 against the raps and raps managed to make it 3-2. If heat lose game 6......gg

I fucking called it. If anyone can come back its this Celtics team vs this Miami team. Team full of undrafted guys facing a bit of adversity. They better win game 6
We may have been swept but we weren't reverse-swept, putting up fights every game. And if Boston gets to the Finals and then the broom, we'll definitely have some teams feeling worse.
He will be remembered as exactly what he was. An inconsistent star who sometimes rose to all time levels in the playoffs but also had more stinkers than he realistically should (see the 2021 playoffs).
yeah tbf he was injured in 2021, but we just saw Lebron prove what all time greats do even when injured in the playoffs.
people seem to get caught up in recency bias, calling the Steph Game 7 vs the Kings one of the greatest performances of all time, and Jimmy leading the Heat over the Bucks similarly.
Jimmys great but 2 outstanding postseason runs dont make a legacy on their own
I can just imagine how wild the slander and narrative turnaround will be for butler, if they do blow a 3-0 lead. From himmy butler, MJ's son, to being the greatest choker in history.
they have the bigs to rotate on Jokic though
even Grant Williams did a good job, add Rob Williams and Horford to that and who knows.
Derrick White has outplayed Murray in series before too
I hate them, but unfortunate that team is stacked because the Jays didn't sign to their supermax contracts yet. This is their last good chance before they end up being bit hard by luxury tax.
Heat are fucked. They better pray that gabe vincent returns in the upcoming games or else they're about to make history as the first team to blow a 3-0 lead..
I think it's widely accepted that AD won't be able to lead this team as the number 1, and with Bron declining we need to find a second star to carry the torch. Why not Wemby?
Lakers send: Anthony Davis
Spurs send: Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, 1st pick (Wemby)
Lakers get an injection of young talent, Spurs get a bonafide star to carry their team and bring fans to the arena (when he plays). We can send them Mo Bamba too so they have a solid frontcourt but I'd rather not overpay.
After this we do the following
Lakers send: D'lo, Malik Beasley + our 2nd round picks from LAC
Raptors send: Siakam, OG Anunoby
Raps need a point guard with FVV probably leaving, and have too many forwards. This will free up Scottie and gives them more picks to work with. We get slightly better, with OG being a proven defender and Siakam being the second star to run with behind LeBron.
Lebron Vassell Johnson Siakam Wemby with Reaves, Rui, etc coming off the bench would give us a very flexible roster for next year's playoffs and a bright future with Wemby after LeBron retires.
No chance in hell the Spurs do that. AD + 23 first + 29 first and the Spurs still won't do that.
No chance Toronto does that either. The asking price for Siakam and OG would probably be some combo of 5 first round picks or young prospects.
These Small market fans are so pathetic. Overall we showed Denver good sportsmanship, they have 0 rings, they're 1-7 against us in the playoffs, yet they're still too petty.
I'm not even gonna watch the finals it's meh for me to stay up late in the morning for it but i'd enjoy them losing 100%.
What are people’s thoughts on Derek Fisher not getting his number retired? Dude was drafted and stayed on the lakers the whole 5 championship runs with Kobe. Was a key role player every time. Confused on how melo gets his number retired on far less.
That's fine, still a role player. Lakers win 5 titles without him. Just because he was along for the ride doesn't mean he's a Lakers great.
Rodman also doesn't. Only 3 with the Bulls.
They don’t win 5 without him, that’s what makes him a key role player. I’m sure they’d win some sure, but you and me would just be speculating anyway. But what isn’t speculating is that he was part of 5 championships in the span of 10 years. Please name me another player who was “along for the ride” who averaged the same stats and minutes.
They still win all 5 without him unless they replace him with no one. You're telling me Shaq and Kobe wouldn't have won without Fisher? 100% they do. Fisher was great in his role but they win without him. He wasn't even the starter the first two titles and the third was the most dominant run (record wise) ever. His stats were not that great, that doesn't do anything to help.
Again, speculation.
But no they wouldn’t. They already didn’t win even with him. Just needed better coaching. His numbers increased once Phil came in, as well as everyone else. It’s a team game and Kobe and Shaq didn’t win right away anyway so that logic goes right out the window. They didn’t
win a laker ring without him and that’s a fact.
Agree to disagree. There's no doubt in my mind they 3peat without him in 2000-2002. Like you said, Phil had an impact on the team. A hell of a lot bigger than Fisher. They didn't win a title with Fisher on the roster either. So yeah, he's not the reason why they won. They won because Shaq was the most dominant player maybe ever during those 3 years. And Kobe was blossoming into one of the best players ever. Those two + Phil could've won the title with any competent players.
Y’all gotta get Kyrie honestly, him with Lebron and AD will be magic. You already know Lebron can keep his bullshit in check cuz he did it in Cleveland
Unless he takes a discount we lose a significant amount of depth, which is crucial to even get those 3 stars (who tend to miss a lot of games throughout the season) to the playoffs healthy. Well I agree Kyrie could likely help, a trade that doesn't hard cap us would be much more ideal if any. Mid season trade could work, but I just don't see the Mavs helping us mid season with absolutely no leverage from Kyries camp at that point.
Brook Lopez is a beast on box outs, screen setting and post ups… he’s also a massive body that allows him to stop drives , defend elite big men. He also has elite touch around the rim and can score at all 3 levels.
I swear people just say shit to say it. Bamba isn’t in any way shape or form comparable to brook Lopez lol bamba is closer to the good will/bottom of the barrel Myles turner if you want an accurate comparison.
What teams will tank next year? Spurs won’t, Utah and OKC never even tried last season, Houston won’t if Harden comes back. Pelicans, Blazers, and Clippers look to be close to blowing it up. Standings will likely be tight again in the west.
Spurs are 100% tanking. They’re going to rest Victor every other game and try and preserve him since he’s going to be made of glass. No point in burning him out his first few years when you don’t have the ability to actually contend
Need Bron go get dame on the phone , he’s not winning in Portland . He’d fit in here perfectly he could still be our n1 offensive option/scorer . Doesn’t need to be a loyalty thing it makes sense for Portland to rebuild then try to be a plsy in team. Lebron more off ball n defence , roll man , play finishing . Reaves a great 4th fit but maybe they’d want him. Abd I love reaves and know we need him he’s near mikal bridges in thst perfect complimentary player . Better creator but worse defence . Plus I don’t think the value of same contract is that high he was out injured a year ago and he’s gonna be 35 paid 60m a year. Portland should try draft scoot at 3 and rebuild : don’t get why they trying to desperately compete when they can’t crack the tier 1-1.5 teams Denver, lakers/suns, warriors , then even grizzlies will be better or as good n young , though losing brooks actually hurts him ( Bron should try gettting in touch with him and get him to come over for the TPMLE ). As long as he takes less threes only good ones he’s a really valuable piece . Monster defender . He did best job on curry last year anyone did over dpoy smart . Maybe brooks can rehab his image here imo but I think lots will want him
Yup. The sub is reverting back to the takes we saw last off-season:
- Rob is a glorified car salesman who only got the job because he’s Kobe’s agent, and is secretly blacklisted by the league which is why he can’t get any good deals done
- Jeanie is a good for nothing slut/bitch/whore who penny pinches the organization
- AD is the biggest bitch in basketball who wouldn’t be in the NBA if he weren’t 6’10. Just a beta male virgin trapped in a basketball player’s body
- LeBron is a demanding self-obsessed drama queen whose Klutch agency has full control of the Lakers, and 0 control at the same time (depending who you ask)
They never stopped… dude performed a miracle that would make Jesus Christ balk and did it with a single heavily protected first and an expiring vet min and they’re still complaining
AD was also playing with Beta Male mentality.
Not an alpha, like JJ Reddick said yesterday. Not a real man, either.
He’s your typical virgin who hasn’t taken the red pill yet to be a true Top G like Andrew Tate.
Idk how his wife and kids respect him given he’s such a beta. Meanwhile he’s playing with a true Chad Alpha in LeBron
AD is for sure a beta. He shrinks any time someone would go and body him up. Any challenge he faced he would wilt like a flower in the hot sun.
Don't get me wrong, dude is hella talented and has a lot to offer a team, but he CAN NOT be the main guy on the team. If you look at his time in NO he was the main guy. He would ball out all season and put up good numbers. He still does. But when it gets tough and teams really dig in and play him hard, he disappears.
I also don't know if it was the defensive strategy or just his lack of awareness, but I swear he looked so lost and confused out there half the time. If they would have been calling defensive 3 seconds like they should have, he would have had at least a half dozen called on him per half. Go back and watch the last two series and the dude would literally stand in the key for 10 seconds at a time and wasn't even close to arms length from anyone. I think if they would have made those calls it would have actually helped the Lakers because it would have forced him to get out of the damn paint and play some defense.
Yeah I was pretty much hyperbolizing the take that “AD is a beta male”
It’s ridiculous take, but it gets a lot of traction on here.
A 7 ft millionaire athlete being called “Beta male” by a bunch of 5ft fat Reddit keyboard warriors will never not be funny
I could feel my blood pressure start to rise, but then I kept reading. Glad I did lol
Can’t tell with zx10rpsycho, unfortunately. It’s either elite mockery of that mindset or (I think more likely) they just outed themselves as a dummy
I really feel the path is upgrading the role players around Lebron and Davis. They must get at least 1 quality big to play the 5.
I get it, Russell is coming back. Let’s hope he can be offensively consistent all season.
I don’t think the Mavs will allow Kyrie to come into free agent play and I don’t want him at this point anyway.
Edit. To be clear I am happy to build around Lebron-Davis-reaves-hachimura. If you want a star hunt, shit I’d rather they call Harden to see if he wants to come back to SoCal and contend for a title for less money.
I think it’s time to accept AD and bron can’t get it done anymore. Lebron even said they did the best they could and failed. We need to retain rui/vando/reaves and then seek real help outside of that.
rui and Reaves were fucking phenomenal and played better than literally anyone on the 2020 team outside of the stars. On game rui literally went 100% from the field and played great defense. Reaves was averaging like 20ppg on great efficiency. We still lost in 4
If luxury tax and second apron weren't real problems for franchises, then Lakers could add without subtracting. It's going to be interesting how much the Lakers decisions are impacted by luxury tax and second apron. Most telling will be what they do with Beasley. He has the perfect contract to trade and get a meaningful player, but Lakers might just cut him and save on money.
Yeah people don’t get this reaces n Rui balled more then any guy in 2020, even Dlo did more first two rounds without the duo. We needed dlo to be a legit 20 ppg jump shooting playmaker . We actually need kyrie but it’s much harder to get him without giving him a pay cut . If Bron is serious about contending he should send kyrie a call n give whatever the difference in sakary is to ky to come here hoop: rebuild his reputation. A guy with kyrir /dlo skill set is who we needed. He didn’t work in Dallas cos Luka n kyrie do similar stuff on offence plus kyrie wants to run, he fits perfect here if we somehow can get him. Up to brin if he’s srs about winning : we need ky + reaves giving up reaves will make us too thin . Throw in Dillon brooks n maybe keep vando n pray he grows a bit and you got a roster
If we had 2020 Bron n AD we win this series . AD can’t shoot threes anymore , Bron was injured slower n more easier to fatigue
Exactly my point. If this was 2020 lebron we win every close game pretty comfortably. I’d even say rui/Reaves are the best 3rd and 4th option bron has had in years. They balled out more than jr smith and Kevin love did in most playoff series lol
So if we can’t win with two amazing role players balling out next to the stars we clearly need some sort of change in the hierarchy and someone else to put at the top. Lebron is nearly 40, he should be able to get his 22/5/5 with solid defense and it be enough. We shouldn’t expect him to have to go 40/10/10 every night just to win.
I disagree but that’s fine. So what are you saying as far as next moves then?
I’d prefer to build around Lebron-Ad-Reaves-Rui.
I’d like Vanderbilt back as well and I know Russell has to come back. Rather than seek a star I think they need 1-2 more good contributors
Yes your right. This off-season will have to change many guys games for example I think AD lost confidence in his jumper. 2021 AD was creating his own jumpshot and fading away from 20ft. I don't know if it's injuries or playing the 5 but AD has to get his jumper back to fix the spacing
Kwame just [boomed](https://twitter.com/notacoon__/status/1661786741454573569?s=46&t=L2x5rb3eE0LKIGLRoK6FvQ) the shit outta Shannon Sharpe this morning 😂
I was very impressed with Darvin Ham, especially during the series vs Golden State. The adjustments he made were really good.
I think the team was gassed. We were essentially in the playoffs since February.
I think (hope) Pelinka saw the importance of depth and won’t blow up the team to get someone like Kyrie.
He made several key in game adjustments. G2 Memphis , g1 Denver . Issue was his cast was Weaker then Denver who legit have 6 options who can play both ways and the role players offer more defence covering for the stars. Ham is a good enough cosch to win if he had kcp n Gordon/Bruce brown over Dlo we the ones winning this series
The most critical factor for the Lakers to be a contender next year is establishing the best closing lineup in the league.
Lebron and AD are a given. Given the investment Reaves will likely be in as well. Therefore the Lakers need a 3&D wing and a defensive guard (ideally 3&D although defense is more of a priority given Reaves strengths and limitations). This lineup would be versatile and for the most part matchup proof. A backup defensive big is a lower priority but would be a luxury rotation piece that could sub out the other guard for select matchups
Reaves, defensive/3&D guard, 3&D wing, Lebron, and AD should be the goal this offseason which means 2 acquisitions need to be made
Thoughts on Wenyen? I feel like he's too skinny to be in frontcourt. Lakers need a bulkier center. For the meantime, they should start using TT at C and Davis at PF.
Don't forget, we found out Rui can actually defend bigs as well in a pinch. To me thats a very interesting wrinkle going forward that I wonder if we explore more.
We just need to add solid role players(aka DEPTH) on our roster and have Bron coast the entire season until playoffs. We don’t necessarily need to be a 1-3 seed. Just at least make the 6th seed, no more than 7th. With our core of Rui, Reeves, AD, Vando and other solid role players, it would be enough in the regular season to be able to win games and not have to rely so much from Bron in the regular season.

Bs Denver homecourt matters. If we had homecourt we prob steal games 1-2 and this series look’s different. Homecourt was worth 11 points on spread Denver -5.5 home lakers -5.5 home g3, -3.5 g4
Denver were just the better team + Bron and AD were gassed and injured… If we had Bron fully rested and HEALTHY come playoff time, shit would’ve looked a lot different possibly. January Bron is a prime example, blud looked amazing before the injury
He isn’t the best from 3 but can create his own shot and doesn’t get played off the floor as much as D’Lo (who would be the main piece in my hypothetical dream scenario)
The off season might be my favorite part of the NBA. The draft, the player movement, the rise and fall of teams. This is where most GMs make their money or get fired.
The draft is up next for us and this one falls in interesting ways. There's lots of guards in this draft and a number of forward prospects too. There's also a very specific big that is being mocked in the 20s who could be helpful.
My reach target for 17 is increasingly looking like Jordan Hawkins who had a spectacular shooting performance in the tournament. He's young, athletic, and a pure shooter. He can defend some ones but he'll make his money as a sg. Still needs some development especially physically but he's got great tools. A couple kids who should definitely be there at 17 and that I like a lot: Bilal Coulibaly and Rayan Rupert. Both young international guys with awesome physical tools. They'd come into the NBA as pure defensive players but with lots of room to grow into more. Especially Bilal I need to watch more, but seems to have good feel out there.
The kid most fans are looking at and who should be there is Derek Lively II. A giant kid who is a legit 7 footer and weighs probably 230 lbs. He became an elite shot blocker in college and anchored a Duke team that had lots of other more offensive options. He showed almost no other tangible skills in college, but he was the #1 recruit out of high school and there's most definitely room to grow. He projects as a Mitchell Robinson type. I dont know what our plans are with Bamba, but Lively would step in as a potential body to spell AD for 15-20 minutes a night if he can stay out of foul trouble.
Dark horse at 17 for sure, but he's gotten buzz lately: Brandin Podziemsky. I saw some of his stuff earlier this year and I really like his game. I know it's a white on white comparison but he looked a lot like Donte Divencenzo. He's a good-not-great defender, a very good shooter, and an underrated passer. But probably his best attribute at this stage is his ability to crash the glass. He'd be a really good fit next to Austin (Brandin would come off the bench) as a duo that just has excellent feel and makes good plays over and over again. This is a guy you probably have to reach for.
Lmao that dude just hops on trends and stupid narratives for clout bc that’s the only attention he will ever get in his life and just hope people don’t know about his career. Buddy might be the biggest loser in nba history
This team lost to the nuggets by an average of 5ppg over 4 games.
If DLo did anything we could have won the series. I don’t think we do anything drastic. Just shop Bamba and beas for upgrades I guess.
We’re not hard capping ourselves by sign and trading DLo and we might not even trade him next season because who could we even get back
It’ll be like a DLo for Rozier swap tbh. No one’s taking DLo at 25m or so and that’s fine. Just upgrade where we can and run it mostly back
This year’s loss falls on the hands of Rob Pelinka more than any one player. He waited to the last minute to trade Westbrick. This team got less than 2 months to turn it around and prepare for the postseason. They did a mighty good job but it’s not enough time. There’s a reason why the 95 Rockets are the only team to win a championship without any home court advantage. Because it’s fucking difficult. You have to steal a game on the road against a better team and defend all your home games. I do believe that if the Lakers had won g1 or g2 vs the Nuggets, they would’ve won the series…alternatively, if they had lost G1 to the Grizzlies and Warriors, they would’ve lost those series. It’s amazing at Lebron’s age, he nearly took them to the Finals.
Problem is Rui n reaves did ALOT for free basically . They won’t be as cheap next year ; you guys don’t get that : we lose that value that dlo could have of just playing to his regular season numbers and winning cos we gonna be paying reaves n Rui more. So it’s not that simple . Not to mention AD Bron health dive roll , this dumbass franchise not going all in this year really screwed us. No garubtee we get another shot but AD seems sturdier n landing better. Hoping both our duos foot surgery’s go ok
having a salary to trade is better than having nothing to trade. It's not like not paying Dlo 20 million would allow us to sign anyone worth that money.
No one is trading for Dlo with that salary unless it's for 1 year, maybe 2. Anything beyond that the Lakers will be stuck with no willing trade partners. Teams don't just trade for trash.
There are some people who really think dlo is a good player and it’s clear they don’t actually watch him. Dude is just bad and you cannot win against good teams with him playing. Denver straight abused him
Max Christie said he’s grown (physically) over the year. Dude is probably 6’7 now.
He could be the 3&D player we’ve been looking for next season. He’s on a cheap deal and would be in the same situation as Reaves after next season.
Meaning he will be a RFA and if he has a breakout year, we can match any offer.
It's been 2 days since the legendary 2022-2023 lakers season finally ended. Reminiscing about the magical midseason turnaround run already. Watched game 4 vs memphis highlights earlier hehe.
We should acquire Role players instead of going for 3rd star without any depth. Big man & shooters who can contribute Defensively should be our direction for next season
Already have the depth under contract if we want it:
i) BRON, AD, Reaves, Vando, Christie, Rui, 17th pick (7 players)
ii) Bamba/Malik should realistically cost a total of 6 million combined for next season, scrubs, but are still huge possibility to return for regular season minutes. (7+2)
iii) Schrodinger’s Cat should get our MLE, Ham loves him. (10 players)
iv) DLo can be moved beginning of the season for a player under contract so we are not hard-capped, or he can be moved at the trade deadline. He is not a winning player, never will be. (11)
v) 2nd round pick, might buy another, plus don’t forget all our 2way guys from last year, Wenyen, and potentially TBJ reunion (15ish)
Our depth is there, a trade for a star won’t hurt it in any way possible as long as we don’t hard cap ourselves.
Depth is for the regular season, 8 man rotation is to win championships. Even 7..
I think it is a choice, sign and trade DLo or pick up Beasley and Bamba contracts to trade. I think LBJ, AD, Reaves, Rui, Vando, Christie, Dennis will be there and maybe 17 but I think that will be included in a trade
They don’t have to resign Beas/Mo for their full price. That’s like $25 million, realistically they both take pay cuts both due to market and under performance. Lakers will prolly offer them more than other teams anyway
Not gonna lie, the Laker Film Room pod had a really out of touch episode for their post Game 4 recap. Hopefully they correct themselves on their next episode.

Those 3 Heat wins starting to look kinda flukey. It's like reality is setting in and the better roster is finally playing like they should be.
If the Celtics win the series at least blowing a 3-0 lead is more embarrassing than a sweep
tbh i dont even think the Lakers getting swept is embarassing. every game was tight to the finish, was just one team having juice for a player to make one extra play.

Oladipo
Denver probably is going to win the finals at this rate, right?
Unless the Celtics make it and keep the momentum going. That would be a fun series
[удалено]
He can guard full court, which is huge for both slowing down a guy on a hot streak and giving a team with great set offenses like the Nuggets less time to work on the clock.
Maybe ESPN was right to give the Celtics 30% down 3-0 lmao
Noticed that Jimmy hasnt had one of those super big efficient games in a while. Is it his ankle or is he just gassed being the centerpiece of everything?
If we’re going by sports fan jargon, he just didn’t have enough of a killer mentality like LeBron and AD vs Denver. Mentality ran out in game 3 for Jimmy 🤷♂️
regression to the mean
Celtics giving the heat fanbase the scare of their lifetimes. Just like when 76ers fans almost died of nervousness last year when they lead 3-0 against the raps and raps managed to make it 3-2. If heat lose game 6......gg
if they really come back down 3-0 send me to a different wordline
Heat are gonna choke
If the celtics come back from 4-0, im gonna lose it. Fuck you miami, beat them game 6 or die
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to come back from 4-0...
btw if they get the lead to 10 with 3 min left, Butlers 100% checking back in
Magic shouldn't have said that quote he said when they were down 0-3. Gave them some magic dust, no pun intended.
I fucking called it. If anyone can come back its this Celtics team vs this Miami team. Team full of undrafted guys facing a bit of adversity. They better win game 6
boss town gonna do two 0-3 comebacks in the last 20 years wow
You guys realize Boston is going to come back and win this series, right? You can just sense it, and BOTH teams seem to know it.
We may have been swept but we weren't reverse-swept, putting up fights every game. And if Boston gets to the Finals and then the broom, we'll definitely have some teams feeling worse.
God damn we would have beaten the breaks off either of these teams. Denver will eat them alive.
We would not beat the Celtics. What are you smoking?
Not if they played their best but they haven't played their best in any series.
Miami…please…don’t eff this up
If Jimmy Butler has numerous amazing playoff performances, and blew 1 3-0 series, how will he be remembered?
He will be remembered as exactly what he was. An inconsistent star who sometimes rose to all time levels in the playoffs but also had more stinkers than he realistically should (see the 2021 playoffs).
yeah tbf he was injured in 2021, but we just saw Lebron prove what all time greats do even when injured in the playoffs. people seem to get caught up in recency bias, calling the Steph Game 7 vs the Kings one of the greatest performances of all time, and Jimmy leading the Heat over the Bucks similarly. Jimmys great but 2 outstanding postseason runs dont make a legacy on their own
The first guy to get fucked up 3-0. That's historical baby!
Not well. This would be the first time in history to blow a 3-0 lead in the NBA. That’s a heavy cross to bear.
No way the Celtics play like this for 2 more games. Heat in 6.
We would have smoked either of these ECF teams :(
I can just imagine how wild the slander and narrative turnaround will be for butler, if they do blow a 3-0 lead. From himmy butler, MJ's son, to being the greatest choker in history.
if boston wins game 6 its absolutely over
I’m think it’s over already. And I’m serious. I think Boston comes out playing as hard as they ever have in Game 6 and blow them out.
Celtics look hot but Heat are about to go back home angry that they dropped the last two. Celtics will be eliminated by memorial day
Please be right.
I went from being neutral to becoming the biggest Nuggets fan ever if the god damn Celtics win the ECF.
Celtics coming back from 0-3 only to get destroyed by the Nuggets would be pretty funny
Nah .. coming back from that then making back to back finals is still going to be annoying
How would it be funny, they make the finals
It’s better to lose in the conference finals than it is to lose in the finals, per Jordan stans.
they have the bigs to rotate on Jokic though even Grant Williams did a good job, add Rob Williams and Horford to that and who knows. Derrick White has outplayed Murray in series before too
Celts matchup well with the Nuggets.
But I still favour the Nuggets heavily. Maybe I've just been terrorized by Jokic from our series but I can't see him losing.
I hate them, but unfortunate that team is stacked because the Jays didn't sign to their supermax contracts yet. This is their last good chance before they end up being bit hard by luxury tax.
heat mickey mouse shooting is over. denver will be so rested for whoever makes it out
Heat are fucked. They better pray that gabe vincent returns in the upcoming games or else they're about to make history as the first team to blow a 3-0 lead..
Is Gabe probable for game 6?
Not sure. But i wont be surprised if he's still out. That ankle roll really looked bad. He jumped so high for the ball and landed on an ankle roll..
Yeah, it doesn't sound like he'll be back anytime soon if it's that severe.
Grade 3 ankle sprains typically take a month to recover. Hope it's not the case for vincent..
These 2 thrash teams battling it out while Jokic is working on his future stand up comedy in front of a mirror SMH
lol
Celtics really gonna come back from 3-0 😂😂😂
It's not funny.
I see these teams and say fuck kyrie Irving. Keep trying to get mfs who can shoot. Maybe 1 or 2 of them stop our curse💀
Kyrie can shoot
To get him, Team's gonna be gutted. i mean These role players heat and Boston got
These green fucks got motivated, sigh :P
fuck denver, celts mission #18 let's gooooo
Eat shit bitch
Disgusting foh
Damn heat look fucked to start off. I’m gonna be really sad if heat somehow blow 3-0 lead. Hopefully worst case heat in 6. Go jimmy
These teams don't miss open 3's. Same with Denver. Lakers other than Reaves and Rui early in the first two rounds missed everything.
Most fraudulent 3-0 lead of all time. No worries, Denver will fuck Boston in the ass.
Nah Boston won’t choke every 4th quarter like LeBron and AD did.
Have you watched Boston this playoffs? Lmao
They've choked plenty in these playoffs already lol
Idk. These other teams don't brick wide open 3s like us. Our guys shoot like they're blind.
they wont. Nobody stands a chance vs Boston dude
heat about to be the first team to blow a 3-0 lead
It's still 3-2 if they lose this. They'll win game 6.
Raptors took Philly to 6 down 3-0. Miami is better than Philly, worst case they go back home to win.
Damn heat getting fucked
Heat bout to blow this and celtics win ring it’s so over
Heat really might blow this shit 💀
Istg if the heat screw this up😭
I think it's widely accepted that AD won't be able to lead this team as the number 1, and with Bron declining we need to find a second star to carry the torch. Why not Wemby? Lakers send: Anthony Davis Spurs send: Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, 1st pick (Wemby) Lakers get an injection of young talent, Spurs get a bonafide star to carry their team and bring fans to the arena (when he plays). We can send them Mo Bamba too so they have a solid frontcourt but I'd rather not overpay. After this we do the following Lakers send: D'lo, Malik Beasley + our 2nd round picks from LAC Raptors send: Siakam, OG Anunoby Raps need a point guard with FVV probably leaving, and have too many forwards.
It's the Lakers. No way Pop lets that deal through
Why tf would spurs accept that?!? Lmao
lmao they wouldn’t do Wemby for AD straight up
No chance in hell the Spurs do that.
Saw some "coming in peace" posts in their sub after sweeping the Lakers. Some fans tell them to fuck off haha how classy.
All I'm saying is if there are any "coming in peace" posts after a Lakers win next season, I may say things I should, but probably won't, regret.
Let’s move Beasley contract and the 17th pick on draft night for buddy heild
What are people’s thoughts on Derek Fisher not getting his number retired? Dude was drafted and stayed on the lakers the whole 5 championship runs with Kobe. Was a key role player every time. Confused on how melo gets his number retired on far less.
Fine with me. Fisher doesn't deserve it with the Lakers.
Can you explain your thought process?
Cause he's a role player. If you retire role player jerseys then the Lakers would have 30 #'s retired.
Name 1 role player that has 5 rings with 1 team. Besides Rodman
They didn’t win a laker ring without him and that’s a fact.
The legacy of the Knicks isn't comparable to the Lakers...
Obligatory “My Lakies would booty blast both these teams”

Brook Lopez is a beast on box outs, screen setting and post ups… he’s also a massive body that allows him to stop drives , defend elite big men. He also has elite touch around the rim and can score at all 3 levels. I swear people just say shit to say it. Bamba isn’t in any way shape or form comparable to brook Lopez lol bamba is closer to the good will/bottom of the barrel Myles turner if you want an accurate comparison.
Dollar tree Jokic
What teams will tank next year? Spurs won’t, Utah and OKC never even tried last season, Houston won’t if Harden comes back. Pelicans, Blazers, and Clippers look to be close to blowing it up. Standings will likely be tight again in the west.
hornets (perennially?)
Wizards got a new front office president. They might blow it up and start tanking.
Maybe brooks can rehab his image here imo but I think lots will want him
Probably Orlando again
Go Lakers 😤🙏🔥💛💜
I have nothing left but my hate for the Celtics.
Bron playing with a torn tendon, AD playing with a bone spur, and we still made the WCF. Excited for next season.
they won’t be healthy when the playoffs start next year either unless rob can bring in some competent backups
Lol are we back to hating Pelinka again?
Yup. The sub is reverting back to the takes we saw last off-season: - Rob is a glorified car salesman who only got the job because he’s Kobe’s agent, and is secretly blacklisted by the league which is why he can’t get any good deals done - Jeanie is a good for nothing slut/bitch/whore who penny pinches the organization - AD is the biggest bitch in basketball who wouldn’t be in the NBA if he weren’t 6’10. Just a beta male virgin trapped in a basketball player’s body - LeBron is a demanding self-obsessed drama queen whose Klutch agency has full control of the Lakers, and 0 control at the same time (depending who you ask)
/s
Yeah I was pretty much hyperbolizing the take that “AD is a beta male” It’s ridiculous take, but it gets a lot of traction on here. A 7 ft millionaire athlete being called “Beta male” by a bunch of 5ft fat Reddit keyboard warriors will never not be funny
Lol I know u were joking. Judging by your downvotes initially, i don't think others got the joke.
I could feel my blood pressure start to rise, but then I kept reading. Glad I did lol Can’t tell with zx10rpsycho, unfortunately.
We still lost in 4
Agreed but Bron and AD are injured still and we only lost the series by an average of 5 ppg. I don’t think we need to do a ton in the off season
Throw in Dillon brooks n maybe keep vando n pray he grows a bit and you got a roster If we had 2020 Bron n AD we win this series . AD can’t shoot threes anymore , Bron was injured slower n more easier to fatigue
Exactly my point. If this was 2020 lebron we win every close game pretty comfortably. I’d even say rui/Reaves are the best 3rd and 4th option bron has had in years. They balled out more than jr smith and Kevin love did in most playoff series lol So if we can’t win with two amazing role players balling out next to the stars we clearly need some sort of change in the hierarchy and someone else to put at the top.
Lmao suns looking into kyire. They’re going to do a sign and trade for kyrie and ship ayton to the mavs and then try and unload Chris Paul’s old ass
I feel like this would make both teams worse
Kwame just [boomed](https://twitter.com/notacoon__/status/1661786741454573569?s=46&t=L2x5rb3eE0LKIGLRoK6FvQ) the shit outta Shannon Sharpe this morning 😂

Greatest sports rant ever
Referee Eric Lewis allegedly has a Twitter burner account where he insults the Lakers (see r/nba for more)
I was very impressed with Darvin Ham, especially during the series vs Golden State. The adjustments he made were really good. I think the team was gassed. We were essentially in the playoffs since February. I think (hope) Pelinka saw the importance of depth and won’t blow up the team to get someone like Kyrie.
Ham seems to be a good people manager type and made some good adjustments between games. In game adjustments are probably his biggest weakness.
Good I miss the 2020 team so much. Just knew every game they’d win
I think we should go after FVV and a solid big man at the 5 so we can move AD to the 4.
A backup defensive big is a lower priority but would be a luxury rotation piece that could sub out the other guard for select matchups Reaves, defensive/3&D guard, 3&D wing, Lebron, and AD should be the goal this offseason which means 2 acquisitions need to be made
Max christie enters the chat
Thoughts on Wenyen? I feel like he's too skinny to be in frontcourt. Lakers need a bulkier center. For the meantime, they should start using TT at C and Davis at PF.
Don't forget, we found out Rui can actually defend bigs as well in a pinch. To me thats a very interesting wrinkle going forward that I wonder if we explore more.
Could Dame force his way to LA for Dlo s&t, Beas and Mo? I’d also be down for a double s&t for kyrie.
I hope Chicago blows it up. My dream trade is Demar and Caruso.
Demar isnt a floor spacer tho and dont play off ball much plus he isn’t a plus on defense. Caruso id be down tho
Demar is also one of the worst playoff performers too…
He isn’t the best from 3 but can create his own shot and doesn’t get played off the floor as much as D’Lo (who would be the main piece in my hypothetical dream scenario)
Except in the playoffs he just sucks ass. Everywhere and every year he’s just ass when the stakes actually matter.
as the guy. thats a completely different role
So now Kwame Brown is talking trash about LeBron? Good grief these has-been players need a life lol
We’re not hard capping ourselves by sign and trading DLo and we might not even trade him next season because who could we even get back It’ll be like a DLo for Rozier swap tbh.
If Dlo wants anymore than 10 million per season then let him walk.
really bad idea
Being stuck with Dlo's bad contract for 4 years is a bad idea.
having a salary to trade is better than having nothing to trade.
Denver straight abused him
I agree. I’ll be happy if he’s off the team next season.
If he’s 6’7 I’m worried Darvin will choose not to play him since he’s so tall. He loves his guards.
We should pick up Kris Murray or a big
This 2023 draft class is loaded with great forwards as well. Hope we get another good one at the 17th pick. Hehe
If Lively somehow falls to 17th, we should take him.
It's been 2 days since the legendary 2022-2023 lakers season finally ended. Reminiscing about the magical midseason turnaround run already. Watched game 4 vs memphis highlights earlier hehe.
Stability in the lineup right from the start. Need to build the chemistry all year round. Need fresh legs if we aspire going deep in the playoffs
We should acquire Role players instead of going for 3rd star without any depth. Big man & shooters who can contribute Defensively should be our direction for next season
Already have the depth under contract if we want it: i) BRON, AD, Reaves, Vando, Christie, Rui, 17th pick (7 players) ii) Bamba/Malik should realistically cost a total of 6 million combined for next season, scrubs, but are still huge possibility to return for regular season minutes. (7+2) iii) Schrodinger’s Cat should get our MLE, Ham loves him. (10 players) iv) DLo can be moved beginning of the season for a player under contract so we are not hard-capped, or he can be moved at the trade deadline. He is not a winning player, never will be. (11) v) 2nd round pick, might buy another, plus don’t forget all our 2way guys from last year, Wenyen, and potentially TBJ reunion (15ish) Our depth is there, a trade for a star won’t hurt it in any way possible as long as we don’t hard cap ourselves.
