A few that came to my mind were Ewing, Dominique, Barkley.
Nash, Malone, AI, Barkley, and Ewing are the first five to come to mind for me, not counting active players.
There were a good amount of 90's stars that just got gatekept by MJ that could qualify.
I’d include Harden and Paul in that as well
I wasn't including active players since they still have the chance.
Those folks listed aren't ever winning one (as a player).
Oh I see
How many x2 MVPs haven't wona ring? I feel like Jokic is already in this conversation. Or at least right on the edge of it.
Agreed, and if it wasn’t for the two seasons Jordan was out of the league in the mid 90’s, Olajuwon and Drexler would be on this list/in this conversation as well.
We don't know for sure if Jordan would have gotten to the finals those two years let alone beat the rockets which Jordan uniquely had trouble with. It's possible but there's no way it should be stated as a given.
Rockets 5 - 1 over the Bulls from '91 - '93.
Jordan was in the league for Houston's 2nd title.
Jordan averaged more points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks per game in the 1995 playoffs than he did in the 1996 playoffs so rust can't be blamed.
All what ifs but you should check how those bulls performed vs the rockets that season
They gave him one for the '72 team afterward.
Didn't he refuse, or at least initially refuse it?
While they gave him a ring, he hasn't won a championship which is really what the question is
Oh, I didn't realise they had done that.
U seen him play? No. So stfu
No order after this:
Get Nash on this list, holmes.
Such a shame that Oliver Miller never won a ring.
He’s talking about Cheryl’s brother.
My bad. Should have put an /s on my comment. Just giving some undeserved love to the Big O.
I've always wondered how Cheryl would have fared in the NBA. She was a stone cold baller. Even with the male-female size & strength difference, I figure if Spud Webb made it, maybe she could have, too.
There is ZERO CHANCE she or any woman could play in NBA. The size/strength/athleticism difference is astronomical
I agree. Mailman and chuck are definitely the best 2
Although I love Webber and the 01/02 kings, he has no business being on this list.
All the other players are at least top 10’at their position. Cwebb MIGHT be a top 15 pf of all time. He was prob also only the 5th best pf of his era.
Timmy, Garnett, Malone, dirk. (Pau probably was after his era?)
Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley are the best answers in my opinion. If I’m picking one, I’ll take Nash, but only very slightly.
I’d go Malone (fuck him though)
I’m sure he’d do the same to you
"If there's grass on the field, find another field."
It's unquestionably Karl Malone. 2x MVP, 11x all-NBA first team, #3 all time scoring with career averages of 25/10/4
Gotta be Malone. Maybe KD.
Wait, do we acknowledge his rings or not?
Chuck gotta be
Barkley and Ewing are at the top of the list with Malone, and Stockton as well.
If you look at currently NBA players I think CP3 is on that list with Harden. What a shame Kyrie has one but not Chris Paul.
I think Malone is probably top of the list but Barkley, Ewing and Stockton are probably next.
Kyrie earned his. It would be more of a shame if Harden had one instead of CP.
Stockton, Chuck, Nash, Ewing, Malone, Reggie, T-Mac, Vince, Iverson... so many it's almost impossible to pick one.
barkley harden and jokic
Malone - unbelievable longevity, 2x MVPs, 11 First Team All-NBA, arguably a top 5 regular season player of all time.
Stockton - all-time Assists and Steals leader by huge margins. Most appearances for a single franchise. Among the best longevity of all time, played all 82 games in 2003 aged 40.
Nash - possibly the best purely offensive PG in NBA history. 2x MVPs, led one of the most influential and electric offenses in history.
Barkley - as good as most remember Chuck as being, he was better. MVP and one of the most dominant offensive players of his generation.
CP3 - top 5 PG of all time. Will retire 2nd all time in Steals and Assists. Multiple 1st Team All-NBA and First Team All-Defense. His 2007-2009 stretch is possibly the best two season stretch any PG has ever had.
Honorable mentions: Ewing, Baylor, Cameron Anthony Harden (he's never winning one), Westbrook, Jokić (probably unfair to include current players, tbf)
Jokic, Barkley, Malone, and Harden for me
If it was one it
Would probably have to be malone
Malone, Berkeley, Harden, Nash, Iverson, Paul
haven't seen anyone mention tmac in this thread; am I missing something or is there a reason?
High peak for sure but barely any success in the playoffs, barely won any individual awards apart from scoring titles, etc. Just hard to put him up against the likes of the Mailman and Barkley, with great postseason records minus the chips and loads of individual awards.
Mailman. He and stock had to go through Shaq and Kobe year after year just to face MJ in two finals. No other ringless star was that tested. Plus, just look at the stats.
Malone was in the league a decade before Kobe even joined the league, let alone helped the Lakers become a juggernaut
I agree with the answer, but it was the Rockets, Suns, Sonics, and Spurs that the Jazz had to go through just to get to MJs Bulls.
>He and stock had to go through Shaq and Kobe year after year just to face MJ in two finals
You got your timelines crossed. They technically went through the Kobe/Shaq Lakers in the playoffs twice but it was before Kobe was getting any significant playing time. Malone was in his 12th season by then.
The 98 Lakers won 61 games and had 4 all stars. Kobe wasn’t Kobe yet but that was still a damn good team.
It's Karl Malone, but god I hate that piece of shit.
2:Malone, Stockton, nash, cp3, Westbrook, Ewing
Nikola Jokić is better than Malone, Stockton, Nash, Barkley, and Harden. It's either him or CP3.
i agree with everyone except harden, don’t know why this is downvoted
> It's either him or CP3.
Jesus this is definitely overrating Chris Paul.
Chris Paul is better than Jokic
Jokic isn’t competing with prime LeBron.
I don’t care about the CP vs Jokic statement but this is wild considering that Jokic is 0-1 against LeBron in the playoffs and CP is 1-0. It’s likely that neither of them had LeBron in their way to a championship in the end too unless you think Denver was beating the Bucks. You could have picked any number of other players for one or both (Steph, Giannis, Durant, Duncan for CP) but LeBron really doesn’t apply here.
Do you think CP3 starting playing basketball 4 years ago? Lmfao
Point to me the year CP lost to LeBron in the playoffs. It’s just irrational to think LeBron had anything to do with CP not winning a championship. Unless you think he was so scared he decided to lose early to the Warriors.
Bud you jumped in this thread without reading it and completely changed the argument…what the hell are you talking about.
Oh maybe? I see now there’s a deleted comment. I thought you were saying LeBron stopped CP from winning a title. What did the deleted comment say? Demar Derozan is the only guy I can think of that you could maybe argue but I can’t imagine that’s the comment.
1, which unfortunately because of bad voting, belongs to Kobe
What ? Peak CP3 wasn't that far from peak Jokic and he has WAAAAY better longevity at this point. This isn't even a debate, CP3 is obviously higher all-time than Jokic, tf ?
He's one of the best passers of all time and maybe the best defender at his position in the history of the game. He's right up there with the all-time greats in box score stats, and his impact stats are even more impressive. Do you know how good you have to have been at your peak if you were still a top-10 player as a 6' 36-year-old?
36 year old CP3 was not a top 10 player lol.
He was Second Team All-NBA and the best player on a finalist.
Curry has like four
You are thinking of his brother Seth Curry. Steph Curry has not won a ring.
Seth, who is on the Nets, has not. Steph, who is on the warriors, has 4.
Seth Curry is a 2x MVP and four time champion. Whilst Steph is a good not great role player.
That’s totally backwards.
I’m not clicking on those links as they might corrupt my phone. I know who Seth and Steph Curry. Seth is one of the 75 best players of all time. Whilst Steph his brother has had a nice career it is nothing compared to his younger brother Seth.
Again. So backwards and you’re showing you don’t know who they are. I’m done arguing so Google it yourself then if you think I’m so wrong. Steph is an all star. Seth is not.
I sometimes wonder how people get baited so easily, then I see comments like yours. You even tried to show yourself off lmao.
Really though, this was a huge L.
Steve Nash imo
I really feel like a ring would boost Stockton and Malone's cases for being the best at their positions more
Allen Iverson in my opinion. Arguably the best scorer and he changed the game. Would of had a ring if he didn't play Shaq and Kobe.
No mentions of Pistol Pete or Iceman Gervin?
I weep for Tom Gugliotta
I weep for Penny Hardaway
Kd. Fake rings dont count
Ah yes, the two time FMVP is a total fraud.
Ai Barkley Malone Kd Nash
Alot of people saying cb but i think he would have disappeared into obscurity had it not been for tnt
