anyone else hear an announcer today say “he cleared through the o-line faster than a teenager clears his browser history”
Good to know Hackett was a good friend of Rodgers and played games together.
Wish he had the same vigor for being a head coach.
i.e. see my Broncos the last two weeks.
How drunk is Collinsworth?
When in Rome
All it takes is a finger!
Game. GOT time
The jets and dolphins are a fluke. The bills are overrated too.
Hey, I’m new.
No idea if anyone will seen this, but here it goes a
Is it true there are only around 22-26 games per season for each team including pre and post season, yet there’s 32 nfl teams overall?
That would mean that some teams never face off during an entire season? Are there some teams that go 2-3 seasons without facing each other?
That’s so weird to me. NBA has each time play at least twice, commonly 3 times. Sometimes even 4 times in one season.
Can someone explain that? Are there certain combinations of teams that have only happened on rare occasions?
Including pre and post season, the most games a team can play is 24. Every team will play the other teams in their division twice in the regular season (ex. The Bills play two games each against the Jets, Dolphins, and Patriots) so yeah a team will play maybe half the other teams in the league in a season.
Every team will play each other at least once every four seasons, not sure why it's just how the system works. So some teams can go up to four years between playing each other.
Dude that’s crazy!! Im American born and raised, but never knew that. That’s so weird to me. I know there’s no chance it ever gets changed though, oh well
It’s like that because it makes playoff scheduling easier if you have division opponents twice, and also 17 because games can’t be played everyday, and more would just be too long.
Long story short. There are 8 4 team pods in NfL.
You play your POD 6 games.
You Rotate 2 other pods each year. 8 games
Rest of the schedule is built on the pods you aren't playing and based on what ranking you finished in your pod. Example 1st place in NFC EAST Would play 1st place in NFC South, NFC north. 2 games
Last game is a cross division game based on rankings.
The pods rotate every year so your team will play every team at least once every 4 year turn.
The Texans are a relatively recent expansion team and have only played some of the NFC teams like 4 times
There are 17 games in the regular season and you have to play the teams in your division twice (one home and one away) then you only have 11 games to play the remaining 28 teams. Typically you'll play and out of league division (i.e. NFC East plays the AFC South this year) then the rest of the games are sprinkled between your own conference.
So to answer your question. Yes, teams will go 2-3 seasons without playing each other. Typically they are teams of the opposite conference.
I think it just comes down to how physical of a game it is. You just couldn’t play that many games and keep people healthy. Unfortunately that does leave the opportunity for easy vs hard schedules which is somewhat luck based
Should have been a Bears TD. Not saying they will win, but they got fucked because of "the call on the field"
I’ll say it then, they wouldn’t have won
As a packers fan. Yes, without a doubt.
I don't want the new iphone. I want more football without commercials. Where the fuck do I sign up for that?
BBC Super Bowl coverage has no ads. The analysis that replaces it is as boring as fuck though
Should have been a TD
Ref ball in full effect.
Imagine thinking that wasn’t a touchdown
The QB run from shotgun is bold but to have linemen PULLING and creating more traffic is a whole different level of stupid
Clear TD, of course it is a call that goes Packers way. Put a chip in the ball so you can stop rigging games.
But then they won’t be able to rig games.
Referee: “looks like a touchdown. I think it’s a touchdown.”
Also ref: “not clear”
Bears fans never get a break
Looks pretty clear and obvious to me
Have the Bears ever been any good since the 1920s, I'm new to NFL, just askin'
Half of this subreddit wasn’t born the last time the Giants played meaningful December football
lol, yeah I'm only 10 year's old too
That’s a TD
I hate you tonight. Also you are correct.
I feel like he is in but to overturn I assume they need a view where they can see the ball to see him in and you cannot really see the ball in that replay only surmise where it probably is.
Fields isn’t the answer. Time to tank.
Wtf is that call
omg why shotgun omg why
God fucking dammit.
Wanna kick the tires on Orton or what.
I heard Kap's still in good shape
Damn what a run.
Uncalled false start right?
ALOT of that today.
Bro if that ain’t a new Rodgers meme face
Genuine question as someone who is more of a casual football fan, is Lance’s upside so good over Jimmy G that they were willing to go with him even after making a super bowl and conference championship game?
You have to understand that we made it to those points with Jimmy, but Jimmy is not a dynamic quarterback.
So if you were to insert a Patrick Mahomes, an Aaron Rodgers, etc. into those situations you could make the case that we would dominate.
That’s what they were hoping, someone to put them in the next echelon of teams. I totally understand the idea of wanting to get there, especially with the talent they have outside of that position.
They sunk so many draft picks into him they felt like they had to use him or it would have made them incompetent (which they are) for wasting it all on someone that couldn't cut it.
Trey Lance as a prospect is a dual threat QB with high IQ. His draft comp was Josh Allen, so if he can actually get there then yea the upside is worth the risk. The question is whether he gets there or not.
They think they made to championship despite Jimmy, tough he’s not terrible.
Bears offense is frustrating to watch.
I’m not watching the game, how the hell does fields only have 7 PA?
Lots of 3 and outs along with a rush heavy packers offense that eats a lot of clock
Rodgers vs. Brady next Sunday in the super bowl of boo boo faces. lmao.
Imagine getting wrecked by a team that doesn’t throw downfield.
This may just be me;
But is anyone else glad Renfrow fumbled that ball..
I loved it! Raiders lost and Cardinals moneyline hit.
Nah screw the Cardinals. Shitass team that didn't deserve to win.
So far, Kyler Murray has had two mediocre games after his big contract holdout. And these are teams they want to be in the midst of come playoff time. Early in the season, yeah, but its not a good look for him to come out so flat.
Imagine calling that a mediocre game.
Implying it was worse? I suppose I was being dainty
‘Boys fans gotta be excited about today.
Imagine losing to Cooper Fucking Rush.
Ohio pro sports are a shambles.
Jimmy Haslam also bought the Columbus crew which have in amazingly comical fashion blown 4 leads or so this year with leads going into the final 5 or so minutes. Even multiple goal leads. GUESS WHAT THEY ALSO DID TODAY?!?
Despite the game taking 10 years off my life, i will sleep well tonight.
Has anyone figured out how to be able to cast NFL+ from your phone to your TV? That restriction is so fucking stupid.
It's not the same thing but maybe you could look into getting a projector for your phone?
It's a service meant to watch on your phone. It replaced Verizon and Yahoo mobile games. It's not meant for watching on your TV.
VPN + INT Game pass is your ticket.
I was hoping someone had figured out how to bypass it. Unfortunately, I've just got regular ol' US GamePass.
I just think it's dumb that I pay extra for NFL+ to watch local and primetime games, but I can only watch it on the little screen. I need someone to come out with a 70 inch "tablet".
>I've just got regular ol' US GamePass.
Get a VPN, I use SurfShark, there many others. Gamepass international is $55 a month. Cheaper than Direct TV and is about as real time as you can get.
It works. It's affordable as fuck. No reason not to do it.
I'll look into that for next season. Already paid for GamePass for this year. Guess I just keep pirating the blacked out games for now.
Don't tell them that
Say what you want, but at least we are not as irrelevant as the Bears.
We've had some crushing loses to the Packers tbh
Based on how the NFL has gone today, I’m projecting a bears victory
Bills vs Packers super bowl confirmed.
Vikings might want a word....
I forgot the /s
I’m actually thought about the Vikings. Fellow 0-4 super bowl teams…Jefferson vs Diggs. That’s be dope.
But yes, I was just trying one of those early season hot takes.
Daddy’s home bears fans, and he brought his belt
How much did Slash get paid for that?
Vintage Fields throwing it short and in place where they won’t get the 1st on 3rd
As long as Brady keeps on playing that's gonna be a hard number to eclipse.
Gonna go out on a limb here but I don’t think Fields is that good
I swear the only completions he has past 10 yards are on broken plays.
His 2021 QBR of 26.7 and his 2022 QBR of 22 made you think he was good?
I’ll be honest I never did
I've never been impressed with Fields. I'm not just saying that because of my flair, he's yet to really do anything to me as an NFL player yet (not that my impression matters, but still)
Good God NFL teams. Take the knee in the endzone
All these ads about cell phones don't even talk about what I really want out of a phone.
I want constant connection, no dropped calls, and for google maps to load in an instant with satellite map and live traffic.
I don't give a fuck about the camera as long as it takes decent pictures without too much effort.
I want to know who thinks people are switching to att because of lebron. I want to leave att after those ads. Ughh. So bad
Stans. Sadly plenty of people follow celebrities for EVERYTHING. They will get alot of people jumping just because of Lebron.
End zone photographer has a legit pro camera there and decides to pull up the phone to snap a photo? What? lol
Pro cameras not gonna put it on TikTok in real time
Cris, are you implying that there *are* players in the league that you would be okay with tackling?
2nd and 28. Way to go Bears. Holy crow
Hugging again!!!! Finally called it
So Newman takes a hands to the face and gets rewarded with a holding call. Joke
When I said the raiders will start out 1-5 and only beat tennesee in the first 6 games I was laughed at, they are now 0-2 and I want my apologies. Carr is overrated like I said and raiders won’t ever be good until they get a QB
It's a shame too. Not my team but such promise and always have a soft spot for them
[this one right here](https://festivalforcomedy.com/2017/06/25/comedy-movie-scene-of-the-day-one-million-dollars-from-austin-powers-international-man-of-mystery-1997/)
Jeff Bezos told him he would become powered by AWS and he couldn't refuse
I'm surprised he signed with Amazon, i thought for sure he'd have retired after SNF
Fields spatially challenged he should've ran 1st down lol
Obviously it's early, but that 3rd wildcard in the AFC is totally up for grabs. Clearly the Chiefs, Chargers, and Bills are going to be in. Feels like the Dolphins are in pole position for a wild card spot...but after that?
- Broncos look terrible
- Raiders look worse
- AFC South has 0 good teams, let alone 1
- AFC North looks like the Ravens' to lose, but that says more about the other teams than the Ravens
Ravens are weird in that unlike most teams at this point who are healthy the Ravens are basically waiting another month to get a lot of their big pieces back and just hope to do okay until then.
I still think the Bengals are probably going to be a safe bet for that Wild Card spot though and then Dolphins as the 3rd team.
Ya even though today was not great, the Ravens should be fine. Lamar looks good which is probably the most important thing for them at this point.
Don't know if I agree about the Bengals, felt like they won a lot of close games last year and relied on jump balls to Jamar. Both those things have a high variance, so wouldn't be surprised to see them continue struggling, especially if the o-line doesn't gel.
As bad as the Broncos look, my money would (reluctantly) be on them. They seem to have the best roster of the bunch from top to bottom.
I want Justin to be good so badly so that the Panthers FO looks that much dumber
Yea… they can both be bad, Baker is more than a bad enough look
I thought the packers had a legit Oline
We do, on the sidelines hurt....
Are the Packers Oline this bad?
Chris collinsworth always says how he loves watching someone play and how he remembers them playing in college
I’m turning into the joker
I miss Al Michaels so much 😭
I wish it was tony and Jim
Yeah they’re great too. Tbh I miss chucky and tirico lol
I liked it better when Chris Collinsworth had no voice.
Lol stupid Wisconsin
Can they just call Allegiant Stadium Mordor now?
Packers fans: The Chicago offense is a dull knife
Everyone else: Well your defense is room temperature butter
They literally did not score first lmao
Why is every flea flicker a deep comeback now?
It's a nice wrinkle when everyone expects the deep ball
Man can’t believe how fast this day has gone. Feels like 2 mins ago I was waiting for 1pm…
And now we have to wait till Monday week to seal our playoff place
Feeling a little vindicated about the Hackett hire. I was critical about it from the day it happened and got downvoted
Hey y'all ! Crazy good games 2day! Oh and fck gb
I have no idea who is gonna win the AFC north. All of us are incredibly flawed. Maybe 2022 afc north is gonna be like the nfc east a few years ago when every team was bad.
"A few years ago"
I have some terrible news.
Yeah what the hell?! We’re still trash mountain bby!
these fuckers think they can take our trash?
Get out of here, we have no king. we need no king.
Guys im too high and the game is in slow motion 😵💫
I recently started getting high while watching football instead of drinking. I like it. Games feel a lot deeper if that makes any sense. I’m still high.
Its fun and has more meaning since you understand it better. Trying to decide if I want to bring something to smoke pregame, or to get drinks instead while at the game lol
Smoke more until it speeds up
Got couch lock cant do it
A bonus for Kyler is going to be extra cod points and a season pass
Idk about y'all but I love the tua stat hype here. Tyreek left KC for basically 2 million dollars more but am I salty? No sir. Best of luck to him and his future endeavors
He prob also wanted to show that he could thrive without Mahomes. Like a KD type situation. Also I think he is from south Florida.
Hard to be salty when you have a generational QB man. The chiefs could have me lining up at receiver and Mahomes would make it happen.
Good lord is Japanese cream stew good, and I though Japanes ecurry was good...
The scaliest of them all
I swear Sammy Watkins just won’t die
Is he the new Frank Gore?
Dinosaur Gore is timeless
Yes, 7-time Formula 1 Champion Marcedes Lewis
Lmao underrated comment
How is your flair like that?
Message the mods
Why am I in trouble?
Lmao that’s hilarious.
Nah but that’s the only way to get a 2nd team flair as far as I know.
Oh ok, makes sense lol you scared the shit out of me.
Bro I thought you were making a joke. This just got 10x funnier lmaooooo
"bears...just another win fam"
I call fucking cap lmfao
LETS GO BEARZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Go Bears! Shivers. Time to take shower, I feel dirty.
Dont get why CBS doesnt have a post game show like Fox. How many times has 60 minutes actually started on time? Twice out of 16/17 weeks each season?
I think we get something on the West Coast, our games are on fox so I don’t usually see much but I know 60 minutes doesn’t start after the last game
Usually on doubleheader days, CBS or FOX just skip to whatever's on their 7 or 8PM content out East.
Living out West, there definitely was a little post-game show after a doubleheader. (in CBS's case, there's usually a two hour gap between the end of the game and 60 Minutes. FOX's Sunday slate of Animation Domination started at 7PM.)
When asked what he thought of the Cardinals season so far, Kyler Murray rolled up his sleeve and showed a tattoo of the MW2 logo. “I’ll let you interpret that however you want,” Murray said.
Some people call him the illustrated Man.
Kyler the camper
It’s a legit strategy!
I do not want to believe that Dallas won. I feel like this is a bad fever dream.
Ohio being punished for their sins rn
Mark Davis is a sweet guy, but he is a total dumbass. I could probably convince him I'm a 7th Dan black belt in Aikido and get him to give me a job on the coaching staff as a mental wellness coach or some shit. Dude hires absolute, obvious charlatans and I wish you could fire an owner.
Teams in week 2 have averaged 22.3 points, scoring 9.3 in the first half and 13 in the second half(and overtime). For reference, teams averaged 21 points in week 1, scoring 10 points in the first half and 11 in the second half.
Kyler deserves the Vault upgrade to MW2 after that game
