I've been quiet today. All I'll say is, it's sad to see that Medvedev is a shell of his former self.
Also, Noskova is very promising! Another great rising star.
I wonder if this isn’t something that happens to players who have this hard to beat style but others start to figure out eventually. His opponents are always the ones who are pressed to play his game and need to adapt but he never does. There are other examples like this which to me means that eventually the adaptable players will be the ones who prevail. He needs to figure this out for himself.
This ceremony in Pune is wild. I've never seen anything go on this long, not even Kia Man.
They're acting like they just pulled off hosting the Olympics or something.
Feels like match point was an hour or two ago... we’re just now hearing from the finalists, lol
Update: Ok but the zero visibility ten tons of confetti all at once was the final missing piece from this fever dream
I mean you could say the same of Tallon when he lost the first set to love with 2 double faults at 4-5 when he hadn't faced any issues on serve before that. In the last hour I'd say Griekspoor is looking the better player overall.
Something that many people look over or have forgotten is the press conference that Med gave after the AO last year. I think many things changed inside him that night, and it has affected his play, along with the injuries.
A reminder: https://youtube.com/watch?v=N6XobyiqW0s&feature=shares
I've seen some video footage from the crowd during that final, man the things they were shouting at him, it was horrendous... it really made his press conference statements afterwards make more sense but no less sad.
Let's gooooo TG. Four holds from a first title.
Funny how 2022 seemed to be Griekspoor's chance to make inroads on the main tour after his ridiculous challenger win streak in late '21, he largely scuppered that chance (due to fitness struggles to be fair) but seems poised to make a breakthrough in early '23, as soon as those challenger points dropped off.
Man I want to like Djokovic so bad cause his game is absolutely incredible and he's going to end up at the top but his history, views, behaviour, and FANBASE make it so hard
While I don’t doubt that we may see some entertaining matches between the nextGen in the early rounds, I’m predicting a Novak cakewalk all the way to the title.
Think a lot forget how good Med 2021 USO was but also likely how unsustainable it was.
His serve was fucking 10/10 that final. Ruthless precision.
That hasn't been him since that day. Arguably not even close.
Djokovic is winning AO and as a hater, I'm not liking that.
Hard disagree. Both Djokovic and Medvedev served like 55% and won 80% on 1st serve.
Djokovic got beaten hard in the rallies, winning 40% on 2nd serve, while Med won like 60% despite a huge% of double faults.
First set for Bonzi, he wasn't that better than Griekspoor (impressive power), but Griekspoor had a disastrous serve (with two double faults) at 4-5 and Bonzi was clutch enough to convert his first set point
Glad I didn’t stay up for that match. Especially as someone who can’t stand novak anymore, the most insulting losses are the ones where clearly daniil was so bad that his opponent didn’t even get out of first gear. Medvedev is just a roll over opponent against top 10, probably top 20 guys now
Even in most of 2022 AO, Medvedev had some serious confidence, despite a hard draw (Kyrgios, Botic, Cressy, FAA, Tsitsipas). It's a bit sad to see Clutchvedev is no more, now he's losing to players he used to dominate like Rublev or Tsitsipas.
Djokovic on fire early on and Medvedev took a set and a bit to warm up. Over too quick. Meddy also needs to remember to be more aggressive at times like when he hit those big forehands back at Djokovic
Not a fan of his, but gee gotta admit, Djokovic was ‘challenged’ in both matches against Shapovalov and Medvedev and didn’t even get out of second gear. Very ominous going into the real thing.
Novak had clearly tweaked something, he absolutely couldn't stretch on his forehand side to defend and Medvedev kept targeting that side. Yet a straight sets win, quite unexpected.
If he has peaked it's not because of Alcaraz getting #1. It'll have everything to do with losing the AO last year and being injured plus getting banned from Wimby. Also got injured in the back end of the year. Tough when you're low on confidence and self-belief and each time you're building momentum you get hurt or take a tough loss
Med taking the piss out of Djokovic's stretch now - oof!
He's feeling the pressure of possibly going zip for 4 in a row the head to head and 4-9 overall
Nole 100% tweaked his hammy slightly I know that typa landing. But this is gold from Meddy especially if he comes back. Would love a 3rd ... and nole win :)
Ok I gotta ask because I’m tempted to overreact as hell - what the hell is wrong with Medvedev? Is he the type to take it easy and relax in matches such as these or is this his actual level right now?
Honestly, I think 2020-2021 was his peak and he’s back to his actual consistent level now. We’ll see how 2023 goes for him, but I really don’t have much expectations of him this AO
I wish I was a Novak fan. They’re always worried about him doing bad like their mans wouldn’t take out the whole men’s tour on one leg, half a lung and blindfolded. Like pls he’ll be fine 😭😭
Lol you're not wrong but everytime he looks extra sweaty, or is taking deep breathes or just the totally normal things when playing high intensity sports my Novak fan lizard brain can't cope. 😂 "No! There's something terribly wrong with him!"
After last year where he couldn't play because of circumstances he can't control it would be a horror story if he couldn't play this year due to circumstances he couldve controlled.
Edit: And I know he could've controlled taking the vax but I think my point still stands
I know everyone looks at least a step slower when they play Djokovic but I thinks Meddy looks a bit slow tonight at the back of court and quite hesitant.
Injured Djokovic is probably harder to play in some respects tbh. He starts blasting both wings like his younger days and is generally more unpredictable.
Was a great pleasure to attend my first ATP tournament! Got to see the Bonzi vs. Krajinovic quarterfinals and both the finals!
That was an amazing final to attend! The crowd seemed so into it too
I've been quiet today. All I'll say is, it's sad to see that Medvedev is a shell of his former self. Also, Noskova is very promising! Another great rising star.

Yeah it's India. We're always super dramatic like that. ☺️
Feels like match point was an hour or two ago... we’re just now hearing from the finalists, lol Update: Ok but the zero visibility ten tons of confetti all at once was the final missing piece from this fever dream
Raymond Sluiter in shambles! (Jk)
Yay Tallon did it ! A title
It's match point ! We are loving it
Yes, we are loving it Griekspoor !
Surprisingly a very good crowd in Pune; both players seemingly being equally supported
Liking Griekspoor's serve, quite smooth
Bonzi the better player but can't handle the pressure when it matters the most.
I mean you could say the same of Tallon when he lost the first set to love with 2 double faults at 4-5 when he hadn't faced any issues on serve before that. In the last hour I'd say Griekspoor is looking the better player overall.
Time to get confident Bonzi
Very entertaining and high-quality match up between the first time finalists, Bonzi and Griekspoor.
The match is so ENTERTAINING!!
Something that many people look over or have forgotten is the press conference that Med gave after the AO last year. I think many things changed inside him that night, and it has affected his play, along with the injuries. A reminder: https://youtube.com/watch?v=N6XobyiqW0s&feature=shares

Agreed Great username btw
Lets fucking go, Tallon!!!
Go Griekspoor ! Netherlands is loving it
Let's gooooo TG.
This was an INSANE return game from Tallon
Why is Romain Grosjean coaching Greikspoor?
What a game from Griekspoor to breakthrough and and not even a peep from anyone here, some tennis sub this is.
Crowd is supporting him a lot!! Though Bonzi also has some support
Man I want to like Djokovic so bad cause his game is absolutely incredible and he's going to end up at the top but his history, views, behaviour, and FANBASE make it so hard
Sometimes I wished people focused more on tennis...
While I don’t doubt that we may see some entertaining matches between the nextGen in the early rounds, I’m predicting a Novak cakewalk all the way to the title.

All those arguments about Roger racking up slams during the weak era ….
It's the same, and as a Rafa fan I'll admit he's won some easier titles too.
Hard disagree. Both Djokovic and Medvedev served like 55% and won 80% on 1st serve. Djokovic got beaten hard in the rallies, winning 40% on 2nd serve, while Med won like 60% despite a huge% of double faults.
If she wasn’t playing Saba tomorrow, I would’ve wholeheartedly supported Noskova. That girl is so so talented
First set for Bonzi, he wasn't that better than Griekspoor (impressive power), but Griekspoor had a disastrous serve (with two double faults) at 4-5 and Bonzi was clutch enough to convert his first set point

The H2H is not looking pretty now
Why can't you stand Novak anymore?
take a look at his flair, the revenge is not happening after all seemingly lol
Daniil Medvedev is now the no.2 Russian player!
This shouldn't make me as happy as it does
Pune has quite a disciplined crowd. Bring ATP tennis to Delhi!!!
Bonzi to get first title today!!
Mr Tsitsipas, wtf was that?!
Ok snoodles I'll give you that, petros seems like a nice guy
I think Medvedev will struggle to finish 2023 in the top ten.
I doubt he finishes top 30
I mean there’s a reasonable chance he’s gonna drop out after the AO, so will be getting worse draws already which also won’t help
Don't see Sebi winning it tomorrow but I hope it will be a relatively more competitive match than this one.
In all seriousness, 2021 Medvedev would've made it tougher.
2021 Medvedev was a crazy peak, he’s not that player now
Even in most of 2022 AO, Medvedev had some serious confidence, despite a hard draw (Kyrgios, Botic, Cressy, FAA, Tsitsipas). It's a bit sad to see Clutchvedev is no more, now he's losing to players he used to dominate like Rublev or Tsitsipas.
Djokovic as classy as ever.
Djokovic doesnt know how to take a selfie. 😂😂😂
Would make a bad fifa president I guess
Djokovic nearly gets taken out of the AO by a fan flower pot topple stampede! Different tactics this year from the Australians - mixing it up.
Hahaha the fans breaking the setup
Those drunk people almost break Novak’s leg 😭😭😭😭
I notice a whole bunch of clown adults who try to get his attention for autographs as he’s entering court before play starts. They are embarrassing.
They were closer to taking Novak's legs than Meddy
Djokovic out there thinking tennis players are the least dangerous animals in Australia
Time for Bonzi v Griekspoor, which player wins his first ATP title ?
Very close!!!
Yes, feel Griekspoor has a higher level but Bonzi is more clutch/resilient
Med is playing too passively. When he played aggressively in last set, he was quite succesful.
Nothing too serious.
Didn’t Novak have an ab tear and beat Fritz at AO? The laws of human biology clearly doesn’t apply to him, he’ll be fine
No, according to this sub, he clearly faked the injury to play mind games with Fritz.
While leading 2-0 no less
Yes in do so giving fritz the chance of virtually only needing to win one set to win 🤣
Those two women taking photos of shirtless Novak with that weird creepy smile on their faces... if we swapped genders
It's the same on this sub as well, comments lusting over male players get upvoted yet the same for female players get downvoted.
Upvotes as well for that weirdo fantasy Federer - Nadal "joke" stuff that pops up on the regular
Yuck, saw those two and it was gross. Totally agree that it didn’t feel right :/
Djoko never gonna forgive Med for choking AO 22 to Rafa.
Djoko never gonna forgive Med for not support him this time last year
He's never going to forgive him for taking away USO 21
I will never forgive him for both
Djokovic on fire early on and Medvedev took a set and a bit to warm up. Over too quick. Meddy also needs to remember to be more aggressive at times like when he hit those big forehands back at Djokovic

Octopus should learn how to fight from small kid
Well. That was a bit quick
Djokovic is on his daddy era and I am living for it.
Has Medevev peaked in his career? I feel like he has reached his ceiling and now that Alcaraz has overtaken him.
Hold your horses, Alcaraz is injured and who knows how much time he needs to come back to his best?
Goat gonna goat
Ever since Australia deported him, I guess we don’t deserve the boob throw anymore :(
Oh well. Congrats Novak!
I hate the Djoko-Meddy experience every time but I love how respectful they are of each other.
Nole didn't even had to run today, Meddy is far from his best mentally.
Thanks Nole, can go to bed early!
Leave it djoker to get mad after winning a point
Well that was over kind of quick, I was foolishly hoping for a third set at least:(
Let's go!
Djokovic wins!
Hey Djokovic you want to look at me and talk? You fake an injury and you don't say sorry...
He’s gonna ace it.
Eager for Novak's post-match interview
Another Daniil third set tie break loss coming?
Med taking the piss out of Djokovic's stretch now - oof! He's feeling the pressure of possibly going zip for 4 in a row the head to head and 4-9 overall
Absolutely funny but you can see it got in Meddy’s head.
Med is starting to go the way of Tsits in the H2H
Cordial at the net though. Just how Med reacts to pressure tbh.
Are Novak fans really mad at Daniil?? C’mon I bet even Novak found that funny
Well Med would know that Djokovic is not the sort of guy to be going on about his foot all the time
Lol yeah probably. They're friends, right?
Ikr. They were even joking around earlier. Novak is clearly Daniil’s fav player
I want Djokovic to win this and give a walkover tomorrow just as a FU to Medvedev
[удалено]
It's provocative. It gets the people going.
Nole 100% tweaked his hammy slightly I know that typa landing. But this is gold from Meddy especially if he comes back. Would love a 3rd ... and nole win :)
Is he... is he mocking Djokovic?
Meddy's leg isn't sore, but his acts definitely are
Meddy is such an icon istg 😭😭
Daniil my shady prince 😭😭
comedy
Small pussy Medvedev salty he's losing to injured Djokovic
Medvedev thinks he's slick.
This is amazing hahahaha
Daniil is so different these days, smiling on court and everything. Can’t tell if it’s good or bad tho 😭
Djokovic saying “Shut the fuck up” was kinda hot. Not gonna lie.
when did he say that?... context?
something was shouting in between the rally, Novak wasnt happy
Gods I love servebot Djokovic
Meddy's always got the jokes 🤣🤣
So petty from Medvedev I love it hahah
Med grabbing his hamstring? He is clowning on Nole lol
This feels like the most underwhelming Djoko/Med match in recent years
Daniil is such a cheeky bastard
Medvedev always a character
Lol Meddy with the shade!!
So fucking clutch
Med u legend
Lol, Goran probably thinking THAT'S MY BOY after those clutch serves.
Novak actually like “not today mate”
Is Daniil taking the piss 😭😭 grabbing his hamstring
Every. Single. Time.
Those wide serves are spicy.
It is not "Shut the fuck up" Novak, it's "Shut YOUR fuck up" Medvedev, probably.
Is Rune watching this ?
i saw Badosa in the crowd, didnt see Rune
Yeah she's a Nole fan i heard
“Shut the fuck up” Novak lmaoo
What is goin awnn
Wow, that was insane from Medvedev.
Meddy with Hawkeyes
Come on man we have to finish it in two
Casual 200 km/h second serve on break point.
Novak Djokovic is going to win everything again this year isn’t he?
Yeah, probably.
is there any knowledge on the reason novak changed his physio? i loved uli.
Medvedaddy!!!!
What kind of challenges are these from Medvedev? That serve was so in!
No way they won't make this more interesting..such is a Novak Med match
We really are gonna be left with a hotbed of poor ass talent when Novak and Rafa leave the game aren’t we.
Don’t worry Nick in his big old age will be the next big thing. It’s what he said lol /s
Nah i mean look at that Tsitsipas/Berrettini match it was so good!
Djokovic really be dunking on Stef and Meddy lately 💀💀
It seems Novak is winning that 10th AO!
Like pls he’ll be fine 😭😭
it's all of the Big 3 bastards, they style on everyone regardless of if they should be in a hospital rather than on a tennis court 😒
I’m sorry but how was last year out of his control? He could’ve just taken the vaccine like the rest of us
That's exactly what I added
I know everyone looks at least a step slower when they play Djokovic but I thinks Meddy looks a bit slow tonight at the back of court and quite hesitant.
how is djokovic beating a 10 year younger top player while injured???
It doesn’t make sense does it
Injured Djokovic is probably harder to play in some respects tbh. He starts blasting both wings like his younger days and is generally more unpredictable.
Good observation
Why has Meddy picked up a habit of double faulting at the worst moments
Zverev special
Of course Djokovic is carrying an injury, that's what happens when a player has a big fight and a falling out with his physio
How do you know it was a "big fight"?
Djokovic fired him
Ahh shit. Was this confirmed anywhere? They seemed to have a good bond, not that that means you can't fire someone.
Ffs sake Meddy, I said before the game he was gonna be broken there
