Djere was serving literally better than Isner.....and Ruud's returning was flat but the story is still really Djere's serving. I also don't think Ruud even looked like he cared because hanging around in Auckland is definitely a waste of time for someone who needs all the time they can get to prep. But also...it's otherwise a very disappointing loss because why does this even happen...reminds me of his Asia tour disaster.

I'm not hating on him. Just surprised to see him lose 250s which is all that he has won up until now. That's fact.

Facts about Ruud will give you down votes here. He is an unusual top 3 player in the rankings - and that gives complicated discussions. Because his fans will defend him. Which is completely fair. But there are questions you would not really ask about other top 5 players. Because you are right. There are no wins outside 250s and it could soon be a trauma for him. I myself is mostly troubled because I feel his playing style is boring. That is also sometimes translated into hate.

Yeah my point is that if you say he is boring it is somehow translated into hating him. I think tennis is a weird sport in that regard. Also players showing emotions and yelling in the air is often frowned upon. In other sports it is only if you direct it at opponents or umpires or spectators it is frowned upon. I think sometimes it keeps younger generations from watching the sport - simply because they fight it boring. But now I am spinning away from the topic :)

Yeah a lot of the women who like him because of his looks get very easily offended even tho you mean no harm to him or his fans. So yeah calling a spade a spade can be easily translated to hate.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if he is a little bothered by some of his fans seeming more interested in his looks than his tennis. Maybe also because he is obviously above average looking (many tennis players are) But on the other hand you will see many guys looking like him in Norway. I am not sure he grew up with people calling him a Disney prince.
