“Admits”

lettergrade

Really glad she was able to come clean

JulGabi

Tbh if she hadn’t it would have turned into a huge scandal

justchewingtherag

Hopefully S & V will play doubles at Wimby or elsewhere one last time for old time’s sake

triplejayye

I’m sure this will be her last season. While it’s unlikely she will win a major, I wouldn’t count her out.

davetennisx

I honestly think 2021 was intended to be her last year, but then that slip/injury at Wimbledon happened. No way was she retiring like that.

Big_booty_ho

I think so too. That’s why they were doing a documentary

_welcome

plus covid taking away a lot of a year

Big_booty_ho

She’s been so busy with her businesses and this movie and other boss lady activities I don’t know how much she’s been practicing or staying in match shape but these young girls are hungry. I’ll be rooting for her but I don’t think she goes deep into any tournaments

_welcome

on one of her insta stories she was doing a Q&A. someone asked her if she works out every day. her answer was, "i should but i don't." it's shocking to think about but i think serena's fire to keep going is slowly starting to dwindle. it's just mad to think about she's been able to make finals and semis all the way since having a baby...whenever she retires, it will certainly be on a high note (though, i'm sure people will be quick to demean her if her 2022 season ends up not being great even though she's fucking 40 which is just unbelievable to think about).

Big_booty_ho

I saw that story and was like laugh now but don’t cry when your lack of exercise shows up on court miss girl

_welcome

lol i mean...i think it's just clear her life is bigger than tennis now. and she's fine with winning not being her life's biggest priority anymore. doesn't mean she can't be sad about it! aging is hard for anyone, esp. a pro athlete.

Big_booty_ho

I’m just happy I don’t have to deal with news of her retirement yet. That’s going to be a dark day

LadyJane216

Excited about this movie. Richard Williams is fascinating, flawed, and was right about a lot of things regarding professional development. Maybe tennis fans will want to discuss the movie rather than endlessly dissecting statistics involving the big 3. I kid, but I don't know what ATP fans are going to do post-Big 3, when there aren't record breaking statistics to discuss.

paris_felony

She will never win a Grand Slam again, sorry. 4th round at best if she’s lucky

arknight12

I mean she made SF of AO last year playing amazing and probably should have won that title if she didn’t have a brain fart against Naomi

datscholar1

Like Emma Raducanu the qualifier?

Elarbolrojo

one of the msot important thing in tennis is movement at the top level. Raducanu moves very very well. Serena has not moved well in years.

Elarbolrojo

downvoting doesnt change facts :P serena is very slow - fact.

paris_felony

On god. People are blind to the fact she is too big to be competitive now

datscholar1

I'm not a Serena fan but if she can get into some form with her power and all her experience she still has a chance right? I don't follow WTA consistently so I genuinely don't know how she would fare

Elarbolrojo

ye we can sit here and say technically she has a chance - but in reality she is going to be way too slow to get past the other top players. Only if she had a hilariously easy draw with some walkovers and not having to face a decent player. That's not very likely. edit grammar

datscholar1

Ok I see, thanks. Would comparing her to Fed at this year's Wimbledon be a similar comparison? Fed had a decent draw and went pretty far but he didn't have rlly have a chance past QF anyway? Also he was older and slower etc

Elarbolrojo

yep same thing really, too old and slow.

Chosen1gup

Honestly she doesn’t need to move well. She’s still won the most slam matches of all the WTA from 2018-2021. Tied with Osaka in most GS finals too. Just hasn’t closed in the finals.

Lord_Galactus1

Why are you getting downvoted for speaking the truth lol.

thcm123

Here is the [clip](https://youtu.be/KeNpBuYxWZk) I never realized she’s that umm, well-endowed, or did she have work done recently? If so, an interesting choice as one would think that would hamper athletic performance? (I don’t know if it really does but just thinking logically). Before the downvotes begin, I’m a woman and zero judgement from me as she can do whatever she wants, just more curious.

Big_booty_ho

She’s literally known for being thicc. Besides her tennis of course. There’s rap songs about her famous booty.

thcm123

No, I know that. But I saw some pictures of her from 2016 and…not quite the same.

Big_booty_ho

She’s gained quite a bit of weight since then. Wouldn’t make sense for her to get plastic surgery to make herself bigger when her coach keeps telling her to lose the baby weight to improve her movement

thcm123

Yeah, that would definitely be logical.

Chosen1gup

She’s had a baby and is almost 40

rubikkon

She's always had, um, girls. I remember the first time I noticed. It was back in like 2008 or something. She was running for a drop shot at the net and the camera angle captured it perfectly. I held my own chest in sympathy pain.

_welcome

if you see her play in the early 2000s, you can see she looks like a slim teen. muscular, but certainly on the skinny side. as you get older your body holds onto weight more, both muscle and fat, plus the way her genetics responded to having a baby, i guess that all added up. people's genetics are very different, women's boobs definitely get bigger naturally, some more than others. let's not forget she's 40 years old....getting a boob job is literally the last thing a pro tennis player would do
