I mean, that’s not how marketability works.
You Google them because you think they’re interesting and you’re curious about them, often due to them being marketable
Marketable just means they are valuable for advertising purposes.
They are marketable because marketing executives decide they have attributes that make them attractive to consumers. Because they are marketable, marketing people using them to market products. One of the primary reasons Raducanu is exceptionally attractive to consumers is because she is exceptionally physically attractive.
If I am trying to sell a tennis racket or a tennis skirt and I have the choice between a good tennis player who is very physically attractive and one who is not to put in an ad, I am going to go with the attractive one every time. That is why Raducanu is going to out earn every women's player from marketing fees over the next few years even if she never wins another grand slam.
Haha I agree, I just think it's weird phrasing because it's recursive. It defines the list. Everyone on it is marketable. The reasons why are what explains the behavior. She's extremely cute, and she won the US Open out of nowhere, so people are naturally curious. I personally think those are probably the biggest reasons.
Ah I see your point. I still feel like it isn’t just her looks in and of themselves though but also the classy way she talks and carries herself as well as the positive vibes she projects.
But not just because of her looks imo, also because of the classy articulate way she speaks and the positive vibes she gives off. If she had an angry bratty demeanor she might not have the same appeal imo
I’m not saying Raducanu wouldn’t be marketable, I’m saying she wouldn’t have the *same* marketability. Unlike Bouchard I think she has a ton of other things going for her
I think RG is the classiest of grand slam and will take over Wimbledon.
I honestly couldn’t bear how slimy and ostentatious Wimbledon was with announcing they are the premier match. It made me honestly a little grossed out by Rolex too. He who is king doesn’t need to say he is the king.
Roland Garros is just beautiful, the colours, the terrain, and it is just an absolute battle.
That’s my hot take. Nadal is a good ambassador for it and I think RG will continue to surge in popularity.
Yeah I kind of agree, Wimbledon wanted to be timeless and somehow (IMO) is started to feel outdated. Slowing the courts also made grass closer to hard so why bother? Without Roger it’s also not as exciting (like when Nadal will exit RG)
Probs me continuously checking on Rafa's injury progress 🥲
Me continuously checking Nadal Tommy Hilfiger pics
Ik that after all these years half of the searches come from people searching that Shakira music video
Raducanu is hot, go figure.
more marketable than hot, imo
That sounds like normal human behavior. I always google people only if I think they're very marketable.

Eugenie Bouchard was angry and bratty. She was still highly marketable because she is very attractive despite not being that great at tennis.

And there's the meme
And Rafa is not a looker at all
He won 20 GS so it doesnt really matter with him either way, though.
I'm pretty sure winning the US Open at 18 beats being hot too.
Bruh if she looks ugly no one cares its the combination of both that makes her popular. Are you just stupid on purpose?
Coincidentally, most of the rafa searches came from fed/novak fans: "Why do I enjoy watching Rafa play???"
They meant Leylah Fernandez. I wish they did.
If it's any consolation, she was the most googled athlete in Canada this year.
Good! She deserves it! I hope she continues killing it! I hope they both do!
Rafa GOAT

French open sucks
Same crowd who was too busy munching on wine cheese and cracker at break to catch a Nadal Federer match in 2019, no thanks lol
Double comment eh to hammer your own point home
