Hoping BIG TIME for a Kyrgios-Berretini final and Id be stoked for whoever wins it. Wow that’d be so cool come on
I can't believe those fuckers from Berlin didn't give Lisicki a main draw wildcard... I'm glad everybody is withdrawing from there.
Berlín died man
What website can I use for Tennis stats?
What kind of stats are you looking for? The ATP and WTA websites have a lot of info including previous tournament draws and winners, also head-to-head data on players.
I just want to find interesting trends or answers to questions I have. Thanks for the help!
This is probably going to get downvoted but I've always found Murray's game a tad bit boring
Join the club lol, dw there are many of us 😂
Yoooo fax bru
Same. This is gonna get downvoted too but I always felt like in his matches with Novak, the contrast was that they had similar play styles but Novak does it all a bit better.
It's so weird how Rafa and Roger have never faced each other at the US open, it's a shame.
That’s unfortunate asf for the american people
The crazy thing is, on *six* different occasions they had opportunities to face one another but one of them lost the round before
2008: They almost met in the final but Nadal lost to Murray in the semifinals
2009: They almost met in the final but Nadal lost to Del Potro in the semifinals
2010: They almost met in the final but Federer lost to Djokovic in the semifinals (failing to convert 2 match points)
2011: They almost met in the final but Federer lost to Djokovic in the semifinals (failing to convert 2 match points)
2013: They almost met in the quarterfinals but Federer lost to Robredo in the 4th round
2017: They almost met in the semifinals but Federer lost to Del Potro in the quarterfinals
Thank you! Damn what's up with Federer and match points with Novak🙈
Also I remember the Robredo incident, iirc Rafa absolutely annihilated the poor guy.
It’s a curse dude 2013 should have been the best opportunity for them to meet up but of course the tennis gods couldn’t let it happen and Federer’s 9 USO quarterfinals streak had to end lol
Zheng Qinwen is in the semifinals of WTA Valencia 125. As I said a week ago she really should win this tournament with her current level. She was the only player to push Iga in RG. Parrizas Diaz tomorrow could be tricky tho.
I saw Zheng play today. The tournament website provides a live stream! Zheng's 1st serve percentage was a low 45.5% and while her forehand is powerful...it was inconsistent (reminds me of Sakkari). Zheng gave up numerous points to Jani by double faulting or making unforced errors. Zheng was extremely lucky her opponent (Jani) couldn't match her power.
Diaz, on the other hand, seemed quite solid today. Although she doesn't hit as hard as Zheng, she appeared to have more control.
Overall, while Zheng has more potential I can easily see Diaz beating Zheng tomorrow.
Friendly reminder that John McEnroe made a cameo in The Lonely Island’s “I Just Had Sex”
He made multiple cameos on 30 Rock, and killed every time
TIL Kyrgios has never won a grass title. He hasn’t even reached a final
That is crazy.
No way, that's actually really surprising wtf
He has only won 6 singles titles in his career, with none above a 500.
The not even in a final bit surprised me tbh
Everything you need to know ahead of the 2022 Libema Open semis. [Where to watch, preview and all that](https://sportslumo.com/tennis/2022-libema-open-semi-finals-where-to-watch-preview-matches-live-streaming-details/)
's-Hertogenbosch quarter finals had one set where the loser didn't win at least 4 games. And the second round wasn't much different.
Where are you guys watching Stuttgart open? I really want to watch the full Kyrgios/Murray match but have work :( have been so used to whacking the full match replay on with prime video or discovery+. Any streaming platforms doing that sort of thing for this match? Please help a brother out. And let’s go Murray!
Supposedly Tennis Channel has it in the US but their program guide mentions nothing about it. Not interested in paying US$110 for Plus only to find more Hertogenbosch.
The stream I had looked like pure shiet. So fuzzy it looked like a 90s wimbledon match.
Berrettini has the best second serve on tour
I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I'm not sure what ending I'd prefer to Murray completing the fairytale return. Wimbledon #3, or finally getting that Aussie title he's come so close to so many times?
So many fairytales, so little slams
Wimbledon his best hope because of how poor some highly ranked players are on grass. Also Wimbledon #3 at home would be a perfect way to retire after hip injury
Aussie title for sure. Federer 2017 was beautiful, Nadal 2022 was beautiful, it would be amazing to see Murray do it too. Sadly I don’t think it’ll ever happen though.
Am a huge fan of Murray but let's just calm our horses before we name him the champion of the next 4 slams in our minds...Remember this won't even be the first ATP final for him this year (if he makes it past Krygios i.e. after he lost to Karatsev in Sydney). So all this progress could just as easily be a tiny blip in his calendar this year. 😔
We found the party poopah!
Both is good
I'd be happy enough if he gets close to the top 10 lol
Oh for sure, I'm positively giddy that he's one match away from returning to the Top 50, but if the impossible happens then I'm not sure which of those scenarios would make me happier
King of Qualifiers Taro Daniel is in the Queen's Club qualifying draw. Is it too much to hope he draws Murray when he inevitably makes it into the main draw?
It was meant to be.
We really don't talk enough about how flipping crazy 237 consecutive weeks at number 1 is
In general Federer is treated like too much of an afterthought these days. His peak was insane to the point where any match he lost was considered a huge shock lol.
Hell, even last year when he was coming from injury and limited match practice, he still made 2nd week at both RG and Wimbledon.
That's a little more than 4 years and 6 months 👃
This kyrgios murray matchup has some HYPE factor to it
So Serena is liking comments on tiktok saying Wimbledon wildcard and she’s teasing on Instagram that she has something to share that will make people go crazy while dressed in white… if she’s faking everyone out I fear for her with the fan base lol
It's probably a new NFT or something 😒
if that's true, it's kind of crappy for her to take a WC when she could have just entered under the protected ranking, though.
Obviously it’s not the nicest thing(and not something I’d do) but it’s definitely dramatic to wait until the last possible moment to be in Wimbledon lol
I’m still not willing to count Tsitsipas out at Wimbledon. To me his loss today was less about him playing badly and more about Murray rolling back the years
I agree; Tsitsipas played much better today than I thought he was even capable of playing on grass. I don't think he'll make the final or anything at Wimbledon, but I think he's definitely capable of making Week Two.
14 Years since r/tennis was Created Time sure flies by fast
Man I really hope Murray wins the tournament but I’m afraid of Kyrgios
US removes need for foreign travellers to show proof of negative test before entering. Wonder if they will change the vaccine requirement for foreigners?
He'll probably need the monkeypox vaccine too.
Probably not for sometime, and not in time for the US circuit, since they are saying they will revert back to the need for tests if need be.
Just wanted to thank you all for the chat and for not completly changing daily discussions into Rafa fandom.
I’m lost what? What are those other discussions lol
i'm so used to ajla tanking early that i didn't even realize she'd made the quarters in nottingham.
She's up a break in the second but is playing total shit today. Terrible serve and tons of ue's all around. Golubic is no better, don't know how Ajla is struggling so much...
Just realized that Casper Ruud has made as many Slam finals as Tsitsipas or Zverev, and he will be ranked above Tsitsipas come Monday. Idk about you but I’m loving this timeline.
As a Djokovic fan I really don't like this year, lol
Well yeah, as a Med fan I have to say the beginning of this year (+W\*\*\*\*\*\*\*n) have not been easy on me either. But at least Casper is thriving, good for him
You just reminded me that I like Danil and Stef too, my year sucks lol. But it's really good that others Like Casper or Felix Has their time to shine. I like Felix so at least he is doing the results this year for me
Tomljanovic has such a mediocre serve for someone so tall...
They say she is 180cm but when I met her, she seemed taller or it was a weird angle.
youd think berrettini could help her
They split up if I remember correctly.
really? a shame
Andy vs Nick 😳😳😳
Golubic backhand on fire today! 🤩
Nottingham grass court is stunning
Murray-Kyrgios meet for the 1st time in 4 years 3rd time in Grass it will be quite a Match to watch
The big TWO right here imo
No that’s Isner and Opelka /s
Wasn't their first match in 2015? So it's 7th time in 7 years, not 4.
Their Last Match was back in 2018 from that time its 4 years
Right. So first meeting in 4 years, but you said 7th, which it is, but just their 7th overall.
Yeah that's right mine bad
Both of my faves served like shit in the first set today only to win 7-6 6-4 in the end. Can’t ask for better
LMAOO Daniil clapping before he realized he was clapping for himself and then stopping 😂😂
Great way to finish Daniil. Lots to improve after that performance but playing bad and winning is very important and he did just that
Watching more at the end of the sakkari match. First off she clearly is blaming Maia for her own subpar play. I am honestly fine with players getting pissed off when they are playing like shit as long as it is not physically dangerous (to others or themselves) and as long as it isn’t directed at the opponent. If you direct your anger at your opponent i do not respect that at all. And then she gives a fucking pathetic handshake when Maia still was trying to be friendly. I have never been a fan of Maria the player but I always liked Maria the person but this definitely hurt that
I like Maria, but I kinda agree, what happend today was really shitty, but she Has all kinds of emotional problems on the court, It's painfull to watch, but I try not to judge too harsh
All this technology has made it really clear that lines people fuck up a lot lmao.
It's inhuman to be able to see some of the balls imo
Chair umpires too
Meddy mimicking his opponents’ grunts is truly a celestial meme.
It’s amazing how he manages to continue doing it in tight situations too
Completely subconsciously too. It is hilarious. I can relate bc sometimes I subconsciously mimic accents and stuff so ya I love it
Meddy here learning a new language on court each match
https://twitter.com/bwehrublev/status/1535305758438477825?s=21&t=sRNAmyIHL70xJvDCIasqXw wait so if Tommy Paul’s dad is Matteo, doesn’t that Make Matteo Zverev’s Grandfather?
This Andy Murray guy shows some promise, he might have a decent career ahead of him
Wow I didn't watch the match, but what bad sportsmanship from Sakkari. Bea's grunt isn't even that bad compared to the norm.
I remember matches where Sakkari had a way more worse grunt than this.
The weird thing is that she had no problem for most of the match, only started complaining when she got broken in the last game. Even the chair umpire was taken aback...
probably because she knew she was gonna lose again, having just lost to her in miami this year too. their h2h is now 3:0
Terrible sportsmanship. Very disappointing. I think people complaining about grunts in general is stupid but that one in particular is absolutely nothing
Alison Riske is a total sweetheart. Never has anything negative to say about anyone and gave Harriet Dart so much of credit for her game even when the interviewer tried to talk about other things related to the match!
America needed Shelby Rogers and Alison Riske to balance out Coco Vanderweghe's nastiness!
Coco is back on the comeback trail and drew big crowds in Charleston; not aware of any recent incidents.
We don’t talk about that Coco
I think WTA is generally more well behaved despite certain players acting cold at the net in the end of a rough match...
Ali is great. Everyone absolutely adores her on tour
Failed-dropshots galore from Med
Great win for Riske. I'm gonna miss Dart though.
Do we think kyrgios will implode tomorrow
I hope not should be a great match
God I hope so
r/tennis: Kyrgios would be a champion if he stopped acting like a child
also r/tennis: oh man I hope he cries on the court tmrw!!!
A lot of people don’t root for manchildren, what’s weird about that?
Duality of man lmao
Some off the slowest grass courts I’ve seen
A Kyrgios-Berrettini final would be fun. I could see there being some beef there since they both dated Tomljanovic.
Or Andy winning the whole thing
And both cheated on her.
Matteo only once and Kyrgios also only once..a week
Wait Matteo did WHAT????
Read my other comment haha
matteo too? whats the backstory on that one if you dont mind saving some of us some time googling
Actually I cannot say everything bc I was told it in confidence but basically he cheated on her at Indian Wells, and ya that what caused the breakup, which, good for Alja not taking that shit after the Kyrgios relationship where he treated her like shit
Huh? Are you close to the Ajla camp or something?
No haha. Just when you talk to a lot of tennis people you start to make connections with people who know things
If that’s true then it could explain why FAA unfollowed him on Instagram
Yet everyone downvotes the Anisimova meme
It wasn’t with amanda iirc
Oh that was my head canon. But at the time I remember there was a strong “he didn’t cheat!!” camp brigading any talk of it.
Makes me feel a bit better it wasn’t her, because I’ve been rooting for her to get a rhythm going after her personal issues.
For me it is just like, most of them do cheat so I am not gonna say there is no chance someone cheated. Daniil loves Dasha with all his heart and yet is a textbook Fuckboy. If their partner doesn’t care i don’t care if they do care then I will support them for leavint
Yeah honestly today’s dating game is amoral even among non-celebrities. I tend to say people should control themselves bc of the pain it can cause their partner, but I understand humans make mistakes.
I’m willing to give these guys more of a pass because I’m sure they’re tempted much more than the average person (and by extremely attractive/successful people).
Poor Alja :(
Well that's BS, Kyrgios 2-0 bets are voided
Oh no, anyway
Ivashka and Meddy decided to play some lawn tennis. Evey point is a 10+ shot rally.
I swear TennisTV spend half of any Danya match trashing his groundstrokes. Every time they talk about how they are “not aesthetically pleasing” while if you watch someone like Zverev it is all about “oh man the backhand is so beautiful to watch” what makes the Zverev backhand, which is a very fundamentally typical and standard backhand a “joy to watch” but Meddy’s unique and different backhand “not aesthetically pleasing” i know no one cares but it pisses me off. Hate when people act like there is only one right way to play tennis
Whoa, Meddy won that set?
Murray could’ve added another couple of Wimbledon’s without the hip injury, wins like today just give you a reminder of what could’ve been
Bullshit Russian magic to win the first set
That set point at 8-7 is the perfect example point to get someone to watch when they question why some great hard court players don't translate as well to grass.
Good tiebreak though. Med really had to work to take that set.
Tennis tv commentators rambling between sets is so unbearable
Well he won a set when he hit his 2nd serves like Zverev (no joke the worst I have seen him on 2nd serve in years) so I will take that
You hit let and say sorry? Meddy you are a good kid

Amazing amazing. Just, amazing…bweh
Going into this tournament I just wanted to see Matteo play as many positive minutes as possible, but it's looking like a possibility that he can win it all. Daje Matteo!! Needs to shake off some rustiness and get into shape for Wimbledon and the rest of the season as a priority but a trophy would not be bad! Hard to predict where this tournament will go. On paper Matteo is the best player, but he didn't play two months and is a big guy. Muzza is probably the favourite, because he is who he is. Kyrgios can make a surprise if he serves well enough to win in straight sets. Otte has had more rest than everyone else and was playing well.
Daniil apologizing like he had just hit the guy in the head over a great passing shot that just barely clipped the net
If there is one thing I have learned from him...when you hit let you must say sorry no matter what
That’s because he’s a good kid
What a grind from Grassdvedev to win the 1st set!
Medvedev - Ivashka almost looks like clay with those long rallies.
Holy shit that rally
Something about this part of the tennis calendar - these intimate grass tournaments in provincial central European cities - that I find very cozy
Ya okay, this Ivashka-Medvedev match is fun! 🤩
Ivashka randomly pops out every blue moon and plays top players at tournaments like prime Nadal. Credit to Ivashka at 7-8.
Also Medvedev needs to get rid of drop shots. It has NEVER worked for him.
Ivashka is balling rn, I’ve never seen grass tennis look so much like clay
Medvedev’s drop shots range from impossible to return to impossible to not a hit winner off of
Holy shit, what a rally and a set point save from Ivashka
That’s a hell of a set point
Med with another ace by like 1mm lmao
What a challenge call Meddy
If Nick wins this tournament by not giving at shit at all it would be hilarious
Kyrgios struggled against Murray way harder than against Big 3, I'm curious how the match is going to play out tomorrow
Ivashka looks younger than 28 to me
'I just felt like serving today, I didn't feel like running and shit' lmaoooo
"i didn't feel like running or anything" — lol @ nick. at least he doesn't try to be something he's not.
A good person?
Wait im so lost the match is over? Lol. Okay then.. Nick is just texting.
Ivashka go away
the girl in the polka dot romper is fine
I don't watch a lot of 250s, are walkovers more common at this level because the tournaments aren't worth injury?
It’s insane how Nick can just show up and beat the shit out of people who grind their asses off to make it into the top 50.
I swear if he had a Big-3-like routine he’d be a serious threat at 3/4 majors
He's beating the people he should beat, really. Every time he's come up against a superior players this year, he's lost, except against Ruud.
I watched that match in person. I felt bad for Ruud cuz it was a beatdown
For all we know he does have a routine and just acts like he doesn’t
Marton retired out of annoyance lol
I thought he had a back injury? I saw him getting a massage
Maybe both. Just wasn't worth it. Awkward match.
Classic Nick-Muzza in the semis, can't wait!
i swear the magic hat gives king kygs special powers
Kyrgios messaging his gf and looking to her is hilarious
Kyrgios got his wish, less than an hour on court
Lmao Nick really is just vibing. Must be annoying to fucsovics
Usually I’d scoff at the idea of Nick winning a singles tournament but considering Andy’s been hit or miss the last few years and Matteo’s coming back from injury he may actually have a pretty good shot here. No one is touching his serve so far
