Chessinmind

yes

DaverDaverDaverDaver

What happened to Muguruza yesterday? Double bagelled - I didn't get a chance to watch it.

Chosen1gup

Same thing that’s been happening all year, and for a lot of her career. Her only wins in her last 9 matches have been against #343 and #92. She’s been the much higher ranked in all her losses and been bagelled/breadsticked quite a bit, often choking leads in a spectacular fashion.

DaverDaverDaverDaver

I don't meant to be cruel when I say this but she seems to be more interested in being an Instagram star than winning matches. It's a shame, she has been great at times.

randburg

Krajinović vs Kyrgios should be a really exciting match today.

j_lyf

Hyped for the next Denis Novak game

sprgsmnt

so far I'm hyped for the level of tennis we see in Garcia, Goffin and Isner

Booby_McTitties

I'm surprised that bookmakers are giving Alcaraz worse odds to win Wimbledon than they were before the start of the tournament.

Unaatennista

This is a really insensitive comment..

Nabucodonosor89

Wang will play 4 days in a row (5 if she win). They keep scheduling her matches late and suspending it due to darkness. lol

[deleted]

How is that funny?

shegotofftheplane

[korpatsch looking for her name on the doubles schedule today](https://twitter.com/bob_enko/status/1542140345240244224?s=20&t=DYNOlAyu-dNLZLzVnJ8Q7Q)

sprgsmnt

sign over Pliskova or someone on the cover, jeez.

Nabucodonosor89

There is a non small chance of Gauff and Anisimova meeting in R3, certainly on Centre Court (would be Coco's 2nd match in a row there). I wonder if Gauff's preferential treatment in slams and the way american media treat these 2 young talents (very different) will change if Amanda embarrass Coco on CC of Wimbledon during prime time. This is certainly doable after watching Gauff barely survive in R1 against Ruse. I hope we get that match.

jeffwingersballs

As Rafa spoke to a few years ago when asked about getting CC over the world #1 on the WTA side, there is no point to speak to the polemic regarding the schedule. There are many worth players and only so little time on the schedule.

[deleted]

People don’t care about watching Anisimova the way they do Coco. It’s not her fault, but Amanda is beyond boring. It’s like pulling teeth, to get anything but the shortest answers from her in an after-match interview. She’s vanilla - blah.

[deleted]

Since when did people start judging a 2 hour tennis match on the 2 minutes interview afterwards?

[deleted]

WTF r u talking about? I didn’t say people wouldn’t watch her; I’m only referring to her drab public personality.

sprgsmnt

> to get anything but the shortest answers from her some players are emotional and some have trouble speaking in front of crowds. this shouldnt be an evaluation of a player.

[deleted]

It’s only a commentary on how some people are a bigger fan of one great player rather than another great player.

Plane_Highlight3080

to me Amanda has one of the more exciting styles out there. She hits lines, plays risky and is good on FH and BH side. I love watching her and I’m not American or a man lol.

[deleted]

I agree, I never miss a televised match of hers. I’m just referring to the differences between players’ public personalities.

Plane_Highlight3080

Lol I haven’t watched many lf her interviews but I tend to agree about the ones I’ve seen. However! I follow her on Instagram for some reason and she’s your typical outgoing 20 year old. I even worry about her training sometimes because she’s always with girlfriends. She seems very bubbly and friendly in her personal life, maybe she’s just shy.

[deleted]

You’re probably right, about her being shy. 👍🏼

Nabucodonosor89

I disagree. You may not like her personality but her tennis is way more fun to watch than Gauff's and I'm here for the tennis, not interviews. The way she destroyed Bencic and Osaka in the Australian Open was epic. Her match with Fernandez in RG was great as well, and she lost that one.

[deleted]

We’ll no kidding- we’re all here for the tennis!

Big_booty_ho

Coco literally just made the final of a GS 🙄. Y’all are so damn lazy with these tropes.

sprgsmnt

Gauff vs Buz is going to be fun, regardless of court.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Big_booty_ho

Don’t be obtuse. Krej doesn’t have 1/4 of cocos popularity. I feel so sad that y’all had to learn that star players get preferential treatment this way.

Nabucodonosor89

and Halep won Wimbledon the last time she played it. Now she is playing 2 rounds out of CC to give space to Gauff. And Halep will play against Flipkens who will retire after this tournament. It's a way better match and cool story. Not to mention Kvitova in good form, who also can't get the CC tomorrow.

Big_booty_ho

Also- cocos last match was on court 2. Just salty for no damn reason

Big_booty_ho

Popular players get better tv ratings. More at 5pm

Nabucodonosor89

She can play on C1/C2 and get the same ratings on TV. No need to put her on CC and disrespect their own champions.

Big_booty_ho

Lol. Go to the streets and protest about it then

IAmBjergsen

Where can I watch Wimbledon highlights?

Nabucodonosor89

Predictions: Giron vs Molcan - Giron in 5 Gray vs Fritz - Fritz in 4 Mcdonald vs Gasquet - Gasquet in 4 Ruusuvuori vs Van de Zandschulp - Van de Zandschulp in 4 Broady vs Schwartzman - Schwartzman in 5 Krajinovic vs Kyrgios - Kyrgios in 4 Sonego vs Gaston - Sonego in 3 Thompson vs Tsitsipas - Tsitsipas in 5 Garin vs Grenier - Grenier in 4 Bonzi vs Brooksby - Bonzi in 4 Cressy vs Sock - Cressy in 4 Galan vs Bautista Agut - Bautista Agut in 3 Shapovalov vs Nakashima - Shapovalov in 4 Berankis vs Nadal - Nadal in 3 Novak vs Kubler - Kubler in 5 De Minaur vs Draper - Draper in 5 ------------------------- Badosa vs Bara - Badosa in 2 Bogdan vs Kvitova - Kvitova in 2 Liu vs Cornet - Cornet in 3 Tomljanovic vs Harrison - Tomljanovic in 2 Minnen vs Zheng - Zheng in 2 Andreescu vs Rybakina - Andreescu in 3 Sorribes Tormo vs Tan - Sorribes Tormo in 2 Udvardy vs Mertens - Udvardy in 3 Wang vs Watson - Wang in 3 Boulter vs Pliskova - Boulter in 3 Dart vs Pegula - Dart in 3 Golubic vs Krejcikova - Golubic in 2 Martic vs Kucova - Martic in 2 Swiatek vs Kerkhove - Swiatek in 2 Davis vs Anisimova - Anisimova in 3 Frech vs Schimiedlova - Frech in 2 Flipkens vs Halep - Halep in 2 Gauff vs Buzarnescu - Gauff in 3

felinechromosome

If someone provides in-depth analysis of each of this man's predictions, I'll give them an award.

lostinmoss

Alright, I disagree with a couple of their picks but I think I know the reasoning behind them, so I'll give it a shot. Giron and Molcan are similar in quality as players, but Giron has a game better suited to grass and more experience on the surface. Neither of them is that stable though, so this really could go either way, but Giron has the slight advantage. Fritz is the better player by a bit here, but he does tend to randomly drop a set when he gets too passive, so Gray could realistically steal a set. Should be pretty clearly in Fritz's favor though. Gasquet has way more experience on grass, and is less prone to mental walkabouts than McDonald. Since it's an early round, his fitness shouldn't be a question, so Gasquet should pull through. Van De Zandschulp just has a bigger game. Better serve, better variety, better movement, better power. Ruusuvuori is capable of redlining to get a set, but BVDZ just has too many weapons. Grass really evens the playing field from Broady, despite being a much worse player than Schwartzman. They played a somewhat close match last year with Schwartzman winning, so a similar result wouldn't be surprising. Krajinovic has upped his grass court game, but Kyrgios is just too reliable on serve, and his risky play means he'll probably be able to out maneuver Krajinovic at least once or twice on return. Expect one tiebreak. Sonego has won both his previous matches against Gaston, and the surface here only makes him better. Gaston just lacks the experience and firepower to overcome Sonego currently. Thompson is a capable grass player, and Tsitsipas is a great player who returns terribly. Tsitsipas should win just based on his quality, but Thompson can get a set or two in tiebreaks or with a lucky break. Garin has kind of sucked all around lately, and grass isn't exactly his favorite. Grenier really isn't that good, but if he's plays aggressive at all he's the favorite. This is compounded by the fact that Garin can check out mentally at times. Brooksby hasn't proved himself on grass yet, and Bonzi has a great game for the surface. Bonzi should be able to overpower the American, especially due to their serve disparity. Cressy has been on a roll, and it's going to take a good returner and counterpuncher to beat him. Jack Sock is many things, but neither of those. His serve and forehand will make it competitive, but not get him over the line. Galan is a challenger level clay courter, and Bautista Agut is a perennial top 20 player with loads of experience on grass. You do the math. Shapovalov is inconsistent, but his serve is probably too much for Nakashima. He's also finally grabbed a tough win, so his confidence should be back up a bit, which is dangerous for everyone else. Nadal is Nadal. Berankis is Berankis. Kubler has been in good form, but Novak is a good ballstriker. It should be competitive, but Kubler just has more confidence to handle those pressure moments, which should earn him the win. Both of these guys are good on grass, and capable of some great performances. Draper just has a more reliable serve and gameplan to earn points, so he should be able to find a way through against De Minaur. Badosa just has a more consistently powerful game in all aspects. She's had some poor performances, but most have come against top 40 opposition, and Bara just isn't at that level. Kvitova has a wonderful grass court game, and if she doesn't randomly implode she can pretty easily sweep through Bogdan. Lefty serve and forehand down the line is just too difficult to deal with. Cornet and Liu both tend to rely on long rallies, but Cornet just has more experience, both in general and on grass. Expect lots of breaks and grinding, with Cornet just being able to get the edge in a few more than Liu. Harrison is a challenger player for the moment, and Tomljanovic hits the ball hard. The pace is just something you have to play a lot to get used to, and Harrison hasn't had enough opportunities. Minnen really only wins against people in poor form, and while Zheng is still getting her footing on grass, she is in good form. She should be able to hit through Minnen without too much trouble. Both Andreescu and Rybakina can hit hard, but Andreescu has a bit more variety, movement, and a better return. Rybakina can grab a set through strong hitting, but in the long run Andreescu is just a stronger player. Tan used her variety well against Williams, but Sorribes Tormo's movement and endurance is going to counter that completely. Her game just works too well against Tan. Mertens has been in poor form, and Udvardy has a good chance to reset with the delay. She's better than Mertens right now, she just needs to find the confidence to close out the match. Watson is probably the better player on grass, but she seems committed to losing every match, so who am I to disagree with her? Joking aside, Wang is steady enough to handle Watson's game even from a losing position. Boulter beat Pliskova recently, and home crowd support does wonders. Unless Pliskova steps it up a lot, Boulter should be able to win again. Pegula's movement isn't quite top tier yet on grass, so Dart has a chance here. Dart's played more matches on the surface and has the home crowd advantage, so she should be able to get through this with some luck. Krejcikova just doesn't have enough match play or confidence, and Golubic will test her consistency. On a good day, Krejcikova takes this. She hasn't had many good days recently. Martic is the better player overall, and her variety is quite effective on grass. Kucova might get some opportunities, but Martic will outplay her and keep her guessing too often. Swiatek is Swiatek. Kerkhove is Kerkhove. Anisimova is powerful but inconsistent. Davis has a simple game that will take the set if Anisimova unravels a bit. Still, Anisimova is just higher quality, and a complete breakdown seems unlikely at this stage. Frech isn't an amazing player, but she has a nice game and wins matches she's supposed to. Schmiedlova just hasn't been winning enough matches recently to be a favorite for this. Flipkens is nearing retirement, and Halep still beats anyone who's not willing to redline. She's just too consistent and experienced for anyone who's not playing their best tennis. Gauff is a slow starter, and Buznarescu is capable of top 50 tennis at times. Gauff is just a little too good right now though, so she should come through once she gets going. Again, these aren't all how I feel, but the arguments I think best explain each prediction. How'd I do u/Nabucodonosor89?

Nabucodonosor89

That's pretty much my reasoning for all these picks, especially the upsets. Pretty good!

felinechromosome

Wow! You might be a mad man, but you definitely know your tennis. How long did that take?

lostinmoss

Thanks! About half an hour.

lostinmoss

Honestly the boldest prediction here is that Mertens 3rd round streak will end

Nabucodonosor89

She saved match points today. They will play the 3rd set tomorrow. Good opportunity for her opponent to forget it, reset and play like she was doing before. Mertens has been playing worse this season.

lostinmoss

Oh I totally agree, I was mostly just commenting on it because I thought it was funny

MoreDblRainbows

I'm sorry but this is hilarious hahaha. Emma Raducanu on the pressure of heading to New York as defending champion: "There's no pressure. Like, why is there any pressure? I'm still 19. Like, it's a joke. I literally won a slam." I certainly think there is some saying aloud to convince yourself going on there but it's funny and a good mindset.

Motor_Distance5680

Sooo over her.. like why not say the pressure is getting to her? Its obvious.

MoreDblRainbows

Every player has their process.

Pablocoffee

Opinions on vcore 98? What level of player should use it? I’m using an instinct mp right now, are they too different? I’m strong but not so good technique, any advice?

SenorVajay

Maybe lean EZONE 100 or VCore 100 or VCore Pro 100. The 98 has a smaller head size. The shape of the head is much different as well. It would take some getting used to. The EZONE and VCore Pro would be more comparable on a control level

HardTacoKit

throwaway739299292

Post in r/10s. The average r/tennis user has never held a racquet That said, it’s a good racquet but the fit depends on your technique and level. Demo it first.

Jesse4Lyfe

Really? There are people here who watch it but don't play it? This is news to me! The only reason I started watching was because I had so much fun playing.

seewhyaxe

I’ve been watching for so many years but have never played the sport properly. Only played mini tennis when I was a kid, the one with sponge balls lol so yea

SenorVajay

Yeah. I mean, at the very least, 95% of the discussion is about the pro tour and not gear and things like that.

Pablocoffee

There are no demo racquets in my country, i just want to know if too much difference in sweet spot size and if I have to be too precise for use it properly

throwaway739299292

What’s your level?

Randomidek123

Just watched Raducanu answer a question about feeling pressure saying that “im 19 and a grand slam champion and the pressures on the opponent who hasnt done that” 😬 talk about not mincing your words

sprgsmnt

Garcia: am I a joke to you?

Yeah and I see now the UK media have started the first signs of a backlash. As predictable as night follows day.

Dafuqyoutalkingabout

He opponents, most of them, seem to be coping with the pressure.

DBIGLIZARD

Wimbledon worst slam of the year?

jeffwingersballs

Well, there's only four slams a year so one of them is going to be the worst in anyone's given opinion. Only three days completed and I'd say it's been great so far.

mickstep

Tournaments work on who wins or loses, your opinion on who wins or loses is irrelevant. Wimbledon isn't bad because your favourite players are out. A lot of my favourite players are out, doesn't matter as long as it's fair.

lostinmoss

I mean, you could argue the ban of Russian and Belarusian players, combined with a couple notable withdrawals, made the tournament worse quality than it otherwise would've been. I personally think it's been a really fun tournament so far, but I could see where those people are coming from.

jeffwingersballs

Speaking strictly to the tennis, losing both Cilic and Berrettini was worse than losing Medvedev, Rublev.

lostinmoss

Yep, though I think Medvedev could've easily made a deep run, or played some really fun matches. His 4th round vs Hurkacz last year was one of my favorite matches of the tournaments.

jeffwingersballs

Oh, I would have loved to have seen Medvedev defend his QF points. He adds a fresh style of tennis to the tour.

34TH_ST_BROADWAY

Dang, several surprising results. Not just who won, but maybe how they won. I thought Murray would win... I would have picked Peniston over Johnson... and Paul smoked Mannarinno... edit: dang, add Tim beating Reilly to the list.

Kontaveit and Rogers still scheduled to play in Women's Doubles tomorrow morning, after both lost in Singles. I hope they make a good effort at it, it would be nice to see some big names go far in that tournament

Nabucodonosor89

TvR is another "Next Gen" player for the list. He is 4 days younger than Zverev.

chespiotta

colby983

No

celticsmenace

This tournament as a whole has felt underwhelming

throwawayanon1252

I just looked it up as well isner has the second highest percentage of break points saved at 70.74% that’s insane

Meecs18

Djokovic hasn't lost on Centre Court since the 2013 final...

jeffwingersballs

Only problem is that his next opponent is the GOAT.

Kahn-wald

Absolute ridiculous interview from Raducanu... I don't know what's worse, if she really believes in what she's saying or if she's just saying that without really believing in what she's saying. Losing early on Wimbledon, when herself reached 4R last year, really bad results since the US Open and she basically says she doesn't care that she lost ? That's dangerous. Doesn't give me much hope for the future.

Randomidek123

I think she’s using the “I dont care” defence mechanism against the expectations. A journalist asked her if she was relieved and she abruptly said “NOT RELIEF” she also was asked something and went off topic and said “shes had a good gap year and is ready for freshers week”. Something about the tone she had shows that all this is having a great effect on her but shes using the I dont care attitude and a defence

chespiotta

She’s new to the tour cut her some slack

mickstep

What do you expect? Her to rip herself to bits, say she is a worthless piece of crap should retire? Make comparisons between her and Kournikova or Bouchard. Basically just repeat all her haters talking points?

Kahn-wald

Nope. But saying 'there's no pressure' is just being delusional.

mickstep

If the delusion helps her perform, who cares. Djokovic is fucking delusional, still a great player. Loads of players are sporting crucifixes or talk about God. Being delusional isn't really a hindrance to being good at sports.

Randomidek123

Hows djokovic delusional?

mickstep

Antivax, believes in crystals and all kinds of new age bullshit. Shuns modern medicine until it really effects his game so.mucj that he goes through with a much needed operation.

hojbjerfc

I mean idk about tennis wise but in all other ways pretty much everything

throwawayanon1252

Haven’t had enough tennis yet so watching the cali open challenger atm. Anyone else

dunkerpup

Who are we predicting for No.1 court on Friday? I'll be there!

sprgsmnt

Jabeur, Andreescu or Kvitova/Isner-Sinner, Schwartzmann or Kyrgios

dunkerpup

Lots of good options! Thank you!

jeffwingersballs

Ostapenko, Alcaraz, and Sakkari

dunkerpup

Seems like I’ll safely see some good tennis, thank you :)

chespiotta

My matches to watch tomorrow (Most promising on paper) Andresscu- Rybakina Ruusuvuori-Botic DEMON-DRAPER Krajinovic-Kyrgios Klaasen/Melo- Venus/Putz Edit: I do these every day, follow for more!

sprgsmnt

Gasquet and Schwartzman, Kyrgios and Tsitsipas, dont diss Kvitova, Halep and Gauff there. a day's worth of nice games.

jeffwingersballs

I got my eye on Cressy vs. Sock and Shapovolov vs. Nakashima.

mickstep

Gray-Fritz I think could be a good one too.

roamiedumbass

Isner and Murray have now played each other at all four Slams. Isnurray better rivalry than Fedal???

shihtzu_knot

Definitely not. Especially after you learn about Isner and who is is OFF the court. ❌

Mister_Lizard

I am once again forced to wonder what the punishment should be for posting computer game footage on Youtube and making it seem like highlights?

Complex_Rhubarb_3411

Video* game footage not computer game

LittiVsVadaPao

Wait till you see Highlights when they are just publicly available image grabs of the matches

Awilltobemerry

Bright spot - Andy can have his revenge on Isner at Laver Cup :)

theatras

Murray trying to rally the crowd against John fuckin Isner must be his lowest point in his career and he still got his ass kicked.

DBIGLIZARD

So happy for Isner i find Andy to be sort of a dick

Meecs18

What is your purpose on here?

chespiotta

Andresscu-Rybakina on Court 12? Lol wtf is this scheduling Edit: Why cant you just have the Brits play on the better courts, and the most promising matchups too? Matches like Nadal- Berankis are gonna be a bloodbath Another edit: Someone very kind in the comments (u/mickstep) actually explained that was one of the bigger courts. Makes sense now.

sprgsmnt

courts mean nothing on tv if they have good coverage. there's limited time for good matches on two "center" courts.

-Ketjow-

It's 4/5th biggest court.

mickstep

Court 12 isn't as bad as it sounds, it's one of the big ones.

chespiotta

Oh okay thanks. Didn’t know that.

colby983

Because rich people are more likely casuals and wanna see the big names like Nadal

Geneten48

If Isner somehow manages to maintain this level for his match against Sinner it's gonna be a wild ride... Sinner's known for randomly botching his service games and, should the big man continue to serve like he did today, breaking back isn't always an option...

sprgsmnt

the returns vs murray were insane. got me thinking "wow, he actually returned that" a few times.

theatras

I don't see Sinner returning that Isner serve.

ProfessionalSet8970

sinner bagelled isner earlier this year

[deleted]

if isner can beat sinner then he likely faces alcaraz in the 4R. will be crazy. it looks like isner channeled his old prime self in the match vs murray. he looked really excited in the on-court postgame interview. would be cool for isner to have a 2001 ivanisevic style run to greatness

OddsTipsAndPicks

I’m not doubting his ability to do anything at this point, but Alcaraz has to get there. Otte could definitely beat him.

ProfessionalDress476

Anyone know the Supersport Wimbledon theme song

raysofdavies

Worst Wimbledon oat. The ‘73 player strike one was probably much better than this.

[deleted]

the winner of that wimbledon was kodes though. kodes was a fantastic player and won two french opens and made two US open finals in his career. this wimbledon only beats 1973 if some low ranking mug wins it. and look at these two legends who played in the 1973 wimbledon tournament: JIMMY CONNORS and BJORN BORG almost all of the original seeded players before connors and borg turned out to be a bunch of mugs in their careers. connors/borg made the QFs in 1973 wimbledon.

Awilltobemerry

karma

TheRampart

Legend has it Isner ruined 8 Christmases but saved 3

YouNeedThesaurus

How come there are no predictions for Wimbledon?

Juiceboxfromspace

I fear for Sinner :( He’s looked good but Isner serving / volleying like this is very difficult.

lo0ilo0ilo0i

Isner is a class act...serve bot or not that was a great performance against one of the best.

Collecting_Cans

Isner: I will end your tournament then induct you into the Hall of Fame

EastCoastWarrior

Good words from Isner at the end. 👏 I like how he made the joke about his serve bailing him out. It helped for sure, but he did loads of nice drop shots too.

knickgooner10

I am the John and Isner, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. No one is safe from my serve.

shitsoutofstomach

Anyone ragging on Isner for being a servebot tonight clealy wasn't watching closely. He played some great stuff tonight. Almost anyone would have struggled to beat him in that form.

shyaminator96

Damn Heather should've finished off wang. She was up a set and a break and now she has to return tomorrow up 5-4

AdequateAppendage

The tennis world needs to get a fucking grip over the crowd. If you're gonna get riled up over the home crowd massively getting behind the home player that's had massive injury setbacks then we may as well just have every game behind closed doors. They're not perfect when a few of them cheer over faults but at the end of the day, for the most part, they don't get excited about things any more than most of us properly invested in a match would behind our TV screens. The main thing that matters is that, when it was all done, they cheered Isner for his victory and gave him a standing ovation.

BillyBoskins

Hard agree

Asleep-egg-44

36 aces lol that's higher than my best snooker break

wolf-on-dmt

Who does John play in the next round?

TennesseeTom

SinIsner '22!!!

DarthOverkill

Sinner

shyaminator96

That's gonna get the commentators tongue tied

DarthOverkill

Ohhh this is prime meme potential.

Izanagi_Iganazi

This sub hates the things that win i swear to god lmao. Yesterday Tan was getting roasted alive because she doesn’t hit the ball hard enough and now Isner is boring because his serve is too big. The players don’t care about watchable tennis they want to win

lllkill

This sub is biased for certain players with not much merit currently, aka murray

Nastypav12

At least Murray had a great career and they're rooting for a final trophy; explain the love for Shapo or Karatsev?

lllkill

Yeh no idea. Sinner gets some weird attention too.

Jaded-Sapphire3546

You’re pointing out two different types of criticisms. People complaining about Isner are pointing out he doesn’t produce the most exciting matches from a viewership perspective. The criticism of Tan I think was more about how people were thinking she’d fair in future rounds against other players, not about how she was to watch.

Classics22

> The players don’t care about watchable tennis they want to win And the fans care about watchable tennis? You're surprised when people want entertainment to be entertaining? Of course the players should and do whatever helps themselves win. And of course fans are going to want whatever helps themselves be entertained.

bekkahthecactus18

Everything post match point was so classy from the big Man, respect.

DoubleFaulty1

Isner has a good shot against Sinner. Sinner’s second serve is attackable and Isner’s is not. He has struggled against big servers for that reason.

ffellini

McEnroe’s man crush on Isner. Precious

Leoscarr

GG, Isner. That was a good match.

Meecs18

That ball boy was lucky Isner walked back to his chair lmao why did he catch the ball

MildoShaggins

Isner undersold himself a bit there. His approach game and net play whenever Andy managed to return his serve were really impressive

Earnmuse_is_amanrag

Isner doesn't get enough credit for how much he's improved his net game over the years.

Awilltobemerry

those doubles titles do all the talking

OliverDMcCall

Isner might have won, but the spider was the true star of the show.

mickstep

I vote we name her Arachno Sánchez Vicario

Remarkable_Post_6168

Didn't ever heard Isner speaking, he is so respectful and so honest in this interview, a great applause for him If he can lose against Sinner that would be nice, please John

Juiceboxfromspace

Damn. Isner wont get any servebot hate from me

GamamJ44

Isner might be a Trumpist, but I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him. A bit ridiculous to hate on him so much.

shihtzu_knot

I used to love him - he was my favorite American male player. Then I started following him on twitter and was appalled.

Super-Kirby

Wow. What did Isner say on twitter?

mickstep

I had no idea he was a Trumpist until now. Now I can't stand the guy.

Zealousideal_Ad_1604

You realize almost every US pro votes Republican for tax reasons…

twelfmonkey

And that makes them arseholes.

DarthOverkill

Is he a trumpist though?

TennesseeTom

Yes. Check his Twitter.

Awilltobemerry

no - I've never seen proof of that.

Very very much so

DarthOverkill

Ugh why John why. Just when you seemed sweet.

DoubleFaulty1

He’s more an average Republican than specifically a Trump guy.

Is there much difference these days?

IbroSaunks

I feel Andy might have had a better chance with the roof open.

ChimpyChompies

Lovely interview from Isner, so humble and respectful of his achievement

Alex_Sander077

I don't have an issue with guys like Federer or Roddick who have a normal tennis height who mastered the ability to serve. But guys like Isner and Karlovic and Opelka are awful to watch. They just are and we all know it.

philippexyz

I've been complaining about this with Medvedev and Zverev.

Izanagi_Iganazi

I don’t know what you want from them lmao. do you want them to not use their height as an advantage because it’s boring to you personally?

Alex_Sander077

I don't want nothing lol. It's like in music, I can hate a band because I don't like their sound. It's music, it's fair, have at them. I personally hate it. I'm allowed to hate it.

Gaarando

Kyrgios has normal height yet has legit serve bot level serve, it's insane.

Skyluz

Kyrgios is massive

Awilltobemerry

Kyrgios is abnormally tall. I mean, as normal goes...

Padoel

Yeah Nick is 6ft 4in which is not normal height

Elonmuskishuman

Back to watching braveheart and campaigning for independence now for Andy
