Tickets for the rest of the week on ticketmaster are actually pretty cheap right now. Is it because there's less tennis matches to see? I thought they'd get more expensive because it's closer to the final. You can find tickets in the $100-150 range most of this week.
Jimmy Arias, SHUT THE FUCK UP WHEN PLAY IS ON.
Kyrgios/Wolf is the kind of late night match that just feels like it doesn’t happen at other slams
Haven’t seen Wolf play yet but just from watching two points I can tell this is going to be a sexy late night match
Mother f*cking goat sh*t!

Poor Venus has now lost in Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Will she be back in 2023? Life begins at 43
Just finished watching the Ayoma/Chan doubles team win their match in convincing fashion. At the net, Aroma looks like she's at least 8 inches shorter than everyone else; she looks like a kiddo. Charming
Cachin and Moutet are supposed to play a Challenger next week, but I feel that the winner of today's match is going to withdraw.
Is pcb making the semis again this year?
He doesn't match up well against Medvedev or Kyrgios, so I doubt it. QF would still be a good result, he'd be close to the top 10 in the Race. Lot of points to win at Metz, Sofia, Vienna, Paris then maybe the Masters.
Gasquet playing some good tennis
In honor of tomorrow’s Paul-Ruud match, behold one of the [best score lines](https://www.flashscore.com/match/vNigTaGF/#/match-summary/match-summary). Ruud d. Paul at RG 20 | 6-1 1-6 6-3 1-6 6-3
Oh shit, if Murray beats Berrettini and Galan/~~Thompson~~ADK, he'll climb as high as #34. Suddenly very realistic he's seeded at next year's Aussie
How do I watch ATP? Want to watch Decamps and Gaio but can't find it anywhere.
You can watch challengers for free [here](https://www.atptour.com/en/atp-challenger-tour/challenger-tv/challenger-tv-search-results/2022-2795-ms006-nonthaburi-2-gabriel-decamps-vs-federico-gaio/2022/2795/all)
Categorizing the remaining 32 men into their Hogwarts houses (if I don’t know about them, I didn’t include them. Also I’m a Slytherin so no bias here).
Gryffindor: JJ Wolf, Draper, Nakashima, Alcaraz
Hufflepuff: ADM, PCB, ADF, Ruud, Sinner, Cilic, Tiafoe, Rublev
Ravenclaw: Nadal, Murray (bit Slytherin too), Norrie, Schwartzman
Slytherin: Medvedev, Kyrgios, Moutet, Evans, Brooksby (ironically looks like Voldemort), Rune, Shapo
Schwartzmann epitomises Hufflepuff imo.
Clic could pass off as a Ravenclaw or even Slytherin.
Ruud: Slytherin in a sexy way.
Medvedev is the quintessential smart Slytherin that some people like to sort into Ravenclaw but forget the cunning part. See: Federer.
I think of Murray as a Gryffindor tbh, the way he keeps fighting back from injury, the way he kept coming back after losing all those finals to the big 3, the way he came back from 1 set 5-1 down Sabalenka style to beat Cilic in the 2012 USO quarter final, and how he fights for every point
Plus he's Scottish, braveheart and all that lol🤣
Fully agree that Murray's a bit Slytherin as well tho, I think Gryffindors and Slytherins are more alike than they like to admit haha
Nadal too is a Gryffindor I think
EDIT ; Would love to see a women's version, can't decide where to put Serena except she is most definitely not a Hufflepuff lmao
That’s why I think of him as a Hufflepuff tbh. Just tries and tries with no giving up. Incredibly hardworking. Maybe overlooked a bit.
That's very true...I think for me what makes him as a Gryffindor what was all that hard paid off and he DID make it to the top, won 3 GS, 2 Olympic gold and the Davis cup, was world number one and forced a big 4 discussion at one point
I dunno it sounds harsh but I think of Gryffindors as umm...more... successful than Hufflepuffs🤣 he always had the talent and people always say if it was wasn't for the big 3 existing Andy would've won like 10 Slams, and he's still won 3 even with them around...so that's why I put Andy Gryffindor instead of Hufflepuff cause he made it and players like Cilic haven't yet
Sorry to all the Hufflepuffs out there i know how it sounds haha
Ravenclaw: Musetti, Gasquet
Spot on except I think Rafa is as Gryffindor as it gets
They really put USO 22 champ Samsonova on the parking lot tmrw huh
Court 17 is actually the 4th biggest court, despite the name
They better put Andrey and Shapo in the parking lot. That court 5 is Andrey’s good luck charm istg and it’s always full for him 🥺
All Shapo matches belong in the parking lot until he gets his shit together, let’s be real
Bweh wins in straight sets anyway
This sub is the most entertaining whenever Rafa or mury GOAT plays or when some random ass player is peaking against Zverev
I just don't understand how Nadal keeps on getting away with this. Any half-decent player with a pair of balls should have taken that second set 6-2 and then pushed the match to 5 sets at least.
Fognini physically and mentally imploded after going up 4-2 in the second.
It’s not just Nadal. We’ve watched countless players fall apart against the big 3.
Half the game is mental, and having one of those guys on the other side of the court can be intimidating.
Matches to watch tomorrow:
-Paul Rudd (ready for the jokes tomorrow)
kyrgios-wolf is definitely one to watch. I’ll be watching med while it’s going on cuz it’s unfortunate they’re happening at the same time but that could be fun
Good thing we're coming up on a Saturday, and I don't need to sleep or anything.
This is Medvedev erasure
I’m a huge Meddy fan which is why I’m hoping he has an easy straight set win so I don’t have to watch it since it’ll be boring and straightforward 😌🤞
TIL Paul Rudd quit his acting career to become a tennis player.
Nadal-Gasquet to meet for the 3rd time in USO the H2H stands 17-0 in favour of the Spaniard which is insane !!!
Poor guy is 3-49 against big 3.
I hope Wolf beats Kyrgios.
hope nick wins
The duality of man.
No 5 setters today surprisingly
One of my favorite Nadal interview moments was when Courier asked him if he played as himself on tennis video games. He said he liked playing as Federer, because his stats would always be entirely defense-oriented.
-Brooksby over Coric (although a lot of us predicted this)
-Nakashima over Dimitrov (his form hasn’t been good though)
-Gasquet over Kecmanovic (some stupid tennis from Misha)
-Ivashka over Hurkacz
-Niemeier over Putintseva
-Martic over Badosa
Match of the day: Brooksby-Coric
Comeback of the day: Sabalenka-Kanepi (shoutout to Bencic as well)
“Handshake” of the day: Azarenka-Kostyuk
Shockingly easy matches of the day: Rublev-Kwon and Muguruza-Fruhvirtova
Drama of the day: Coco/JPEG vs Leylah/Saville
Broken nose of the day?
Med experts, stupid question, but, is a concussion a possibility with a blow to that area? The dizzy comment has me worrying
I had a very very similar injury a few weeks ago, felt very dizzy but no concussion, thankfully
Any blow to the head or face can result in a concussion
Well, crap. If that's what does him in, it's confirmed he has just the worst luck! Hopefully not the case.
I wouldn’t say it’s likely, but it could happen. I got concussed from a ball bouncing off my racquet and hitting me in the eye.
He’ll probably be fine though.
do you guys think they'll put Nadal at night again?
The tennis podcast mentioned that “prime time” on the USO weekends usually becomes the afternoons so maybe Nadal will play the day match
yea i don't think they wanna compete with college football for ratings
Feel like it will be Brooksby-Alcaraz if they want to put the best match in prime time. If not maybe Frances Diego?
That's what I was thinking... Nadal had two night games already, and he usually has one day game which could be Saturday.
Probably not, Nadal usually gets at least one afternoon session in the first week
Not have same situation with no Serena and no super stars in his half this time, he will get the night if he requires it
Man's enough dehydrated as it is.
No I need to get off twitter because evidently Rafa faked the freak injury
He really started bleeding because of Vaccine complications but you SHEEP don’t want to know the truth
All part of his evil plan.
You see, your first mistake was going on Twitter
Are you kidding me?
Unfortunately I am dead serious
That plaster compliments Rafa’s kit so well. Fashion icon as always
He needs a bright pink bandage
Idk why but seeing Moya in Rafa’s box gives an extra layer of comfort.
We need Papa Nadal and it will be perfect
I know Gasquet is getting absolutely obliterated in a couple days but it's hard for me not to root for him to break the streak through some miracle... feel the same way about Monfils/Djokovic and Ferrer/Fed, it must be so demoralizing to literally not once get over the hump against these guys given that many shots.
“Doesn’t matter the past” when Rafa talks about his winning record vs. Gasquet. Pure class.
What did you expect him to say? This is literally what any athlete says.
It sounds like someone just had an orgasm in the crowd
What in the fuck was that noise lol. You weren't kidding that was a wild sound.
"Great record" against Gasquet. What an understatement
Rafa’s English is so so good now. Pretty much perfect, especially compared to even a few years back
I think Alcaraz will also slowly become just as proficient, the more exposed he gets to the media...
“Your English has gotten so much better”
“Please don’t test me now”
When he first started on the tour I would turn the volume up to like 50 and still couldn’t understand him. He’s come such a long way! 🥺
Exactly! It’s impressive. He’s fluent in Spanish & English now, pretty decent at French. Idk about any others
I wouldnt say perfect but pretty good
The only thing he really messes up occasionally is pronouns. Like he’ll refer to a girl as “he” or “him” by accident.
Other than that I can’t think of anything he really doesn’t know or makes mistakes on anymore
My favorite is “I can’t thank enough the crowd” every single time
Haha yeah that’s the other area he can trip up in terms of fluency with how we talk nowadays, where to put objects / structure sentences when Spanish has different conventions than English. That quote is perfectly grammatical, but sounds stilted in English compared to common usage.
Serena needs to learn how to be humble lessons from rafa
Her dad wouldn’t allow it
Rafa is such a good guy, out here answering questions, when you know his face must be hurting.
I’m pretty, no?
I want Rafa to say this once.
33 games, 15 breaks. Bizarre.
Just let him go, enough of these questions
Patrick: ...after hitting yourself in the nose with your racquet....
“It’s only match. Why you heff to be mad?”
Rafa to face Gasquet next. I should be able to breathe in that match right? Right?
"NOBODY BEATS SIR RICHARD GASQUET FOR AN 18TH CONSECUTIVE TIME, LET THAT BE A LESSON TO EVERYONE!!!" 😡
The real question is whether Rafa will be able to breathe through his nose after injuring it tonight
NO! We Rafans don't unclench ever.
Even the most pessimistic Rafa fans aren’t worried about Richard.
Well, that was an insane evening. A friend of mine bought us two Courtside tickets. Got to see the last dance of the Williams Sisters and one of the most bizarre Nadal matches I've ever seen. A W is a W, though
I'd say you owe your friend now! Would have been great to have been there courtside!
Yeah, everything about it was amazing
Fabio has beaten Nadal on clay more than Federer has.
Timing is everything in life
Who's Rafa facing next?
The guy who has worst record against rafa
That would be monfils
Gasquet is even worse. Monfils has actually got two wins, gasquet does not.
Oh wait I was thinking of their records version Novak
17-0 isn't a threat tbh
no one beats gasquet 18 times in a row tho
Fognini showed some good racket skills but his stamina is not grand slam fit, he got progressively worse, eventually just trying to play standing against Rafa xD
Crazy he came down from 2 sets the other day
He did win against rafa in 5 at USO
Anyone know what shoes Rafa was wearing? I didn’t see that color way on the Nike site for any of their tennis shoes
It's the Zoom Cage 3, now discontinued. They only make them for Rafa now unfortunately.
He wears a custom shoe with the sole from a previous version and the upper from something more recent. They might release the colors eventually but his exact shoes are never available from Nike
Rafa kit is exclusive until the tourney over
I actually got a picture of them to show a friend later if this helps you look them up easier https://i.imgur.com/NnpIthr.png
How the hell did he manage to do that with a golf club? I really want to know.
I am trying to figure it out how that could happen. Like did someone throw it at him? Did he try a backhand with the golf club?
That's genuinely even more confusing lol. This man and his poor face.
That sounds like it would be painful af
This interviewer is whispering
Patrick: Has this ever happened to you before?
Rafa: With a golf club but not with a tennis racquet.
Aww Fognini signing autographs
Kyrgios vs. Wolf is going to be so cursed tomorrow
F boy v F boy
I can’t wait
As troublesome as Fog has been for Rafa, 3 of his 4 wins came in 2015 when Rafa was in his worst form of the last 18 years. 12-1 outside of that (granted still with many close battles)
I feel sorry for Gasquet.
This was too much for a second round match
Good day for seeds, apart from Hurkacz.
I love Rafa's pink outfit so much ❤️
I _want_ to like it, but every time I see him in pink, I get 2009 RG flashbacks 💀
Same! Becoming a big fan of the guy based on his fits alone, love the colors! Been loving seeing all the outfits people come out in, definitely some nice variety.
If Rublev keeps it up and can get past Norrie, that could be a fun QF
Unfortunately Norrie matches up extremely well against Rublev and *terribly* against Nadal.
Well at least for neutrals
Rublev v Shapo is crackling tho
Yeah that should be lit.
But I have zero faith in Shapo’s ability to get past Norrie.
Rublev can but not Shapo imo
Oh yeah, that’s what I meant though not super clear.
Fabio is like hey i was here to just have fun. Time to head back home
Classy of Fog to sign those kids autographs even though he lost
It always meant a lot to me that Djokovic signed autographs after he lost the Wimbledon final in 2013 to Murray. He’s not my favourite player but was very classy and I was incredibly thankful he signed my programme!
LOOK WHO’S RETIRING NOW LMAO
I think me not watching the match after he got broken in second set, turned it around for rafa.
What a shitshow of a match. It is impossible to figure out if this is Nadal's true form or not because Fognini ALWAYS plays Rafa hard and wins at least one set against him.
An ugly win but a win is a win
Nadal advances to the next round. US Open likes - he will face Gasquet next. Applauses for Fognini as he exits.
Bro literally strives under pain
totes worth the price of admission at least even for the nosebleed!
Regardless of Fog's level before the nose injury, it put him in an awkward position afterwards.
Watch me transform into a marshmellow, no?
That was a weird match
What a weird match. So happy he got it done.
This is worse than the Zverev match good lord
It's the opposite, the Zverev match had less than two full sets and lasted more than three hours. This one had four sets in less than three hours.
Rafa's rival had the freak accident (way worse obviously), in this one Rafa had the weirdest accident I've seen in a tennis match but could pull through
I think at this point stuff like a busted up nose doesn't even affect rafa much. Hope it doesn't do any damage to his face though.
Bald Nadal with a scarred face would be a terrifying look
Nobody's better at dealing with pain than Rafa. Tis but a scratch.
Vintage Rafa fist pumping
Fuck. Finally I can unclench. I was doing day trading at the same time I was following the Rafa-Fog scoreline, and despite being initially in a loss in my trading, I was more stressed out about Rafa winning. Glad that he won and I made a small profit in trading.
Nadal losing the first set: not weird
Nadal losing the first set *and* not being able to hold forever: pretty fucking weird
Nadal cutting his nose with the racket: I don’t even know
End result: totally unsurprising
See ya, Fogninny.
Amazing shot by Fognini !!!!
YESSSIRRR! VAMOSSS! ❤️❤️❤️
Ombiliable once again!
The Fogslam will have to wait until 2023
Match point! Thank goodness, now please go put an ice pack on your face Rafa! 💪❤️🔥
Into R3 Vamos!
Rafans after the first set: he's washed. He needs to just retire.
Rafa: 6-4 6-2 6-1
Any Rafa fans saying that do not deserve Rafa
The Pánico^® is real
Rafa needs to get a Band-Aid sponsorship after this
The marketing guys at Band-Aid gotta be thinking of ad ideas to use this
Rafa is employing Novak's late Wimbledon strategy of losing the first set and then sweeping the next three relatively easily lol. /s
Yeah the 2nd set was easy 😂😂
Yeah 2nd was definitely close af but I meant more the 3 sets as a collective, so the last 2 sets balances out how close the 2nd was
Thank fuck this is over
