Fonda Balam is exceptional

CalRob18

Not to sound uncultured, but is it really $9 for a taco?

sibtiger

They are substantial tacos. I'm a pretty big eater and their signature dish (2 tacos with consomme and fixings) was plenty for me.

CaptainCoriander

I had the quesabirria ($21) and it was a decent sized meal. Also very tasty. I would go back in a second.

Baystreethooker

Ya brah.

J7W2_Shindenkai

it's great!

johndprob

All I ever want from articles like this is a map added to the bottom for where they all are. Toronto is huge, some of these would literally be over an hour away, I want to know if any of them are near me :/

TeaStrange1302

The one thing bl*gto does right is the formatting of their restaurant reviews.

AhmedF

Same same same.

mungdungus

Been to 3 of these. Vela is massively over-rated.

kciick

Agreed with this, very pretty inside and decent service but very average food.

CaptainCoriander

Oroshi was amazing. Obviously not the same experience as in-person omakase but quality was exceptional.

bobo_fett

Mira Mira food is just OK. The patio is nice though. Milou is pretty good for a shabby chic kinda of french spot. It gets very busy though and no resos

beef-supreme

~~Mira mira have a Donair on the menu,~~ which is getting hard to find in Toronto

ywgflyer

Just looked at their menus and couldn't find it. Did they axe it recently? I agree, proper donairs are getting nigh-unobtanium again here, after Jessy's closed. Almost have to hop out to Milton now if you want one.

beef-supreme

Oh no, you're right, the Donair is now gone from their menu. 😭

thewongcafe

TIL Jessy's is now closed. What a loss for Toronto, I hope someone realizes our need for donair!

CheesyBeach

Fuck!

20MinButterChicken

Love me a good Donair. But without a go-to spot I started making my own to great success. Not very hard.

groggygirl

The Wood Owl is good, but not life-changing. Slightly higher quality than its sister The Wren, but I prefer The Wren (more menu items that appeal to me....I admit I'm not a wine and fancy food person). I could eat The Wood Owl's eggplant frites weekly if I didn't care about my health.

missingacrystal

Was at Rob Rossi's Osteria Giulia last month. I think I still prefer Giulietta more. Not sure the former is worth the Yorkville price bump.

FluffyDork22

Milou!! Fantastic spot

tinderdrunkman101

Quickly made a reso this week to Osteria Giulia, but had to cancel after looking at the menu more indepth. I have no problem paying for an expensive dinner, but these prices were just mind blowing.

comFive

Hmm Casa Madera isn't on this list. I guess they couldn't get resos.
