Joe Madureira? Loved it. It is so dynamic and cool looking. It got me hooked when I was a kid.
The art is awesome. Too bad he got stuck with a lot of colorists that had recently discovered the dodge/ burn tool in Photoshop 🙄🤦🏾♂️
Yeah, I think this is right around when, not only did digital art started to dominate the books, but also the pages got glossy. It would have been interesting to see how Madureira’s work would have looked in a different time period for the publication.
It looks a better and great in collections released recently on more reasonable paper. Im thinking specifically of the Battle Chasers tpb and Phalanx Cov tpb
I like it
Loved his stuff. Too bad he doesn’t have more books out there
He became art director for the darksiders games lists more money so don’t blame him for leaving comics but yea I miss his style.
Loved Joe mad
I thought it was great, it really stands out. They should a call back to this style for a comic or two.
If you're talking about the art, Joe Mad is one of my favorite artists ever
Anything is better than John romuta jr lol
I love Joe Mad, better “cool 90s” artist than Lee imo
I dig Lee but Mad was great and much more dynamic than Lee's stilted and posed drawings.
Tbf he was later, and may not have been accepted if lee hadnt already broken the “manga influence” barrier
I don’t really see a strong manga influence in Lee’s work?
Compared to other artists at that time?
