Archangel: \*sniff* "Why do I smell body glitter?"

WorkFarkee

wolvie: why do you know what body glitter smells like..

WarWolf343

Archangel: Hey, look over there, it's Psylocke!

OAllosLalos

Despite the fact that these outfits look ridiculous, i still love Joe Madureira's art on uncanny X-Men. Even after all those years. Keep in mind as a kid i was reading his run at the time it was published, so maybe it's nostalgia speaking... Still love this era tho...

distinctlysinister

100% agree

bloodredcookie

Speaking as somone way too young to have read these when they came out, it's not just nostalgia. This art, and these designs are still awesome.

5thSummersBrother_

Cyclops loves it when Wolverine wears that mesh top.

Right?! I can't believe how dated some art of this era looks now!

RWGlix

I couldnt disagree more. What makes it look dated and terrible is the “extreme” lettering

distinctlysinister

What!? People don’t think this art aged well!? Is this Joe Mad? I love it, even today.

Definitely man. Your opinion just seems like a popular one judging by the comments, I just thought more people still loved Joe’s art you know? But definitely, wasn’t trying to shit on your opinion or anything, sorry if it came off that way, I was just surprised at how many people didn’t think his art held up!

ShortNeckGiraffe

I think it looks amazing, but at the same time very "of the era". And someone mentioned the lettering too, which I think lends to that. But I probably wasn't clear- I LOVED Mad's art.

distinctlysinister

Yep I agree, it definitely looks amazing but to me, it’s not even like an “of the era” type of thing, like I legitimately prefer this type of art over a lot of the more modern current artists, but that could be nostalgia talking because I loved this extreme over-the-top era and these costumes and X-men stories, so I recognize that my opinion might be a little biased.

TabernathyToothAche

There was actually an action figure approximating this outfit around that time period.

DarkAlphaZero

That outfit, that build, there is only thing this can mean. Logan’s a fuckin JoJo character

Guardian_Bravo

You thought it was Logan, BUT IT WAS ME, DIO!!!

Just1Guy001

Loved that kinky Joe Mad Wolverine!

mrsunrider

When you got a showdown at the dojo at 8 but a rave at 9.

ArrakisFriedSandworm

He looks like he’s going to a weeaboo themed gay nightclub

Mr_Cochese

You also need to have the bodily proportions of a Warhammer figurine to not spook the locals, apparently. Even skinny posh boy Warren's shoulders are bigger than his head here.

doctorbcraft

Wolverine now attending euphoria high

tregorman

Love that Warren got all decked out and got to the place where they're doing shit before even asking why

Ory620713

That’s just how Ninjas dress. You don’t play fighting games 🤷🏾

gdex86

Warren: Ok I get the Gi and stuff but the glow sticks and ecstasy. Logan: Turns out on top of worshipping a mystical dragon they also think God is DJ. If we get into real trouble we break those out.

Airy_Breather

Tradition...and I'm guess fan service. Not that certain parties are against that. Seriously though, Logan and Warren do look pretty good.

SnooCats8451

The art post AOA was definitely suspect at times depending on if it was either Uncanny, X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force, Wolverine, or Cable

ShitpostinRuS

I hate this art

distinctlysinister

Damn I suppose art is all subjective but I freaking love this stuff
